ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

Ok, so I was going to try to change resorts for our short after-Thanksgiving trip in order to make it more traditionally Christmas. My daughter is staging a revolt as I type this, she never wants to stay anywhere else. (She is a creature of habit and hasn't ever tried another resort on property. I think I've created a Poly-monster.)

For those of you who have been in late Nov-Dec, does the Poly decorate for Christmas at all? Does anyone have pics? Is there a tree in the CL lounge or anything? We already know we love the Poly above all others, I at least need a little bit of Christmas this trip.

They have garlands, wreaths and a christmas tree all over the GCH. They are not the traditional evergreen, but more of a tropical decor. We have stayed at the Poly for 2 christmas seasons and have loved it each time.

*Sigh* Ok, it's settled. She twisted my arm. (Ok, not really, it wasn't that hard to sway me.) I found some pics on the CL info thread, we're going back to the Poly, CL, garden view for three days instead of the Wilderness Lodge like I had originally planned. In order to do it though, we have to make a diversion the first two nights to the Pop, just to get on property via the Magical Express, as the first day we are there we are going to spend the day with Harry Potter.

Lapu Lapu's and Me'lekilikimaka, and the castle lights sounds like the perfect three days to me!!!

Booked all my dining reservations today! Its my 180 day mark! YAY! So excited! Lots of good stuff booked! Going to book Cabanas for two days of our trip! SO EXCITED!

No, we are not exactly Le Cellier fans... however, here is what we did book. We are on the deluxe dining plan so going all out!

Not to hijack the Hoosier excitement, but quick ques about your cabana ressies - I booked 2 cabanas as well a while ago and am wondering if you got a confirmation on your cabana reservations? TIA

They gave me a confirmation number for both of them. I never got an email though.

Interested in the nightly outdoor movies....I read somewhere that the screen was between the Poly and the GF but in this photo it looks like it's right at the Poly?

Just got off the water taxi with my son, coming back from Wishes. The GF has a movie running outdoors tonight, too. Not sure if it was a special thing or not, but it looked (from a distance) like it may have been the same set-up as here at the Poly.

So many of you have trips coming up. Enjoy!!! Can't wait for all the TR and pictures I'm back on the Poly thread, after changing back our summer stay to the Poly. It's our first Poly stay. My DH is the most excited, and I've NEVER seen him excited for Disney...he's the one trying to talk me into going somewhere else. I'm so happy!
