That was our exact same view in May - except we were on the 1st floor with the patio. We were the 2nd room from the end of the hall. I loved that location!! We walked across to the beach a couple of times to watch the fireworks - in our pjs!!

mickey1minnie2 - what building were those photos taken from? They are beautiful!

Ok, how do y'all get colorful sayings underneath your screen name???

Those are tags. You have to be "blessed" by a visit from the tag fairy. "She" takes quotes of your that she reads and tags you with them--it's all a matter of luck.

That is Figi, the Luau side, I am pretty sure it is 3rd floor! It is my favorite room location :lovestruc It looks like about the same room we were in. A few doors down from the elevator. It is a great view :goodvibes

The colorful sayings are given by the infamous "Tag Fairy". No one knows who it is and if/when they will get "tagged" if ever??? The tags are statements the poster has made in any random post. I would love to see MsStinkerbelle tagged with her Lapu Lapu statement!

Some people beg to be tagged, some people who only have 300 posts get tagged while people with thousands of posts have never been tagged.

OK...search doesn't seem to be helping me with my question, so I'll just post it (very sorry, I know it's probably been asked and answered a million times)

We'll be at the POLY in August. We are very light sleepers and generally request rooms located in the quiet area of every hotel. We've booked a GV room, so....which longhouse(s) should I request where I would get the quietest room. Thank you.

This is a subjective answer...but I've stayed in almost every longhouse :cloud9: and I always look for quietest location also (must be all this NJ living!! :rotfl: )

I have to say for us, the quietest areas have been garden view in general since pools & beaches have become noisier over the years. Having said that, we could always still hear elevator noise/delivery cart noise no matter the location if we are near those. And at the Poly, we always hear the LOUD family as they stampede screaming down the hallway past our room forty times a day (they ALWAYS seem to check-in right after us ;) )...Luau noise never bothered us as it is so atmospheric. Not sure what the noise is near Movies On The Beach....We now also request only top floor at EVERY resort to avoid the noises of people above.

Thank you for the info! Now I know why people have talked about a tag fairy :rotfl:

Does anyone have a picture of the recent refillable mugs? Last year they were the standard anywhere resort mug with either a yellow, red, or black top. But a few years ago I bought the 'POLY' refillable mug and I love using this at home (it doesn't have the skinny bottom to fit in the car though). Just wondering what they are doing this year. I'm going to get some this fall - whoo hoo!

We've been in several bldgs too - and although one never knows what your neighbors might be like, we found Tahiti GV and Rapa Nui GV (facing Tahiti) to be very quiet. Both of these are "newer' bldgs' with even larger rooms and in Rapa Niui some bathrooms have 2 sinks (not HC bathrooms). Also, 2nd and 3rd fl have a balcony and 1st floor has a patio. Tokelau is also quiet opposite the pool side. All these longhouses have nice garden views too!

Hope this helps!

Does anyone have a list or know where I can find a list of where is room catagory is? Which building each catagory is?

Hi-
My mom and I are going on a girls' weekend trip the first weekend of October, and we used the 40% off pin to upgrade from POFQ to the Poly... Well, I went and upgraded our room from the garden view to a theme park view as this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip for us... Anyone have a suggestion as to which longhouse to suggest? I'm turned around a bit by the maps, they seem to be a fair distance, and I don't know how much stamina my mom will have walking after being in the parks all day...

Thanks!

:goodvibes :hippie:

What fun!! My friends and I are going on a Girls Weekend in Dec and upgraded to CL TPV thanks to the 40% - you will have such a wonderful trip!

None of the longhouses is a far walk - if you'd like to be closer to GCH, request Tuvalu, 1st or 3rd floor (no balcony on 2nd fl). Tahiti also has awesome views, it is about a 5 min walk to GCH, but right next door to TTC for trips to EPCOT. Tahiti has a balcony on the 2nd and 3rd floor and patios on the first. :thumbsup2

Does your mom have any special needs? Shower hand rails or a shower bench help? If so, special needs can arrange for that for you - call 407-939-7807, option one. have your reservation number handy. Or you can call the regular reservation number and ask them to request a shower with handrails in Tahiti or Tuvalu - these would be 1st floor rooms.

Hope you have a fabulous stay!! :goodvibes
