ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Fall 2010 Edition

WOO HOO! Congratulations on the big win! I usually don't chime in about the views because I know it can be a big difference in price. But I absolutely loved our TPV from the Hawaii building. Standing on the balcony in the early morning was so peaceful (we enjoyed Tonga Toast while sitting out there..twice, LOL). And watching the fireworks...just amazing (without any worry about finding a seat in the lounge or on the beach)! But my favorite part was just stepping outside before I went to bed and saying goodnight to the castle (silly, but I loved it).

I think you will really enjoy the Wildlife Discovery Tour also. We only had our family of 4 plus another couple on our Tour and it was wonderful to see the animals up close. We were able to walk from one side of the van to the other to see better and take pictures.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. It really is appreciated.

We booked a garden view room for next month and our ressie has Garden View (PB) on it. What is (PB)? I asked to be close to the transportation center for Epcot.

nyz2004:What's the check out time? do they allow late check out?

Check-out is 11:00 a.m. at the resorts. You can request a late check-out, but the latest time is 1:00 p.m. and is granted on a room availability basis. For anytime after 1:00 p.m., there is a cost associated with late check-out. :)

Check out time is 11am. They do allow late check out, I asked for late checkout around 1:30pm August 7th, 2010 and they gave it to me no problem!;) Have a great trip! At no additional fee..

One last question (I hope). When we stayed in a MK view room in Bay Lake Towers- the wishes 'music' was on a channel on our TV. I booked a TPV room at the Poly- any chance that our TV will have the sound for Wishes so that I can watch the fireworks from our room?

TIA. Appreciate it.

I'm not sure what channel it is on, but it is accessible. Depending on your room, you may even be able to stand on your patio or balcony and hear it from the speakers that line the resort grounds. We have been TPV at Hawaii the past couple of years, and have heard it from the 3rd floor balcony easily. We didn't even need the TV.

The same is true if you were to watch on the beach. Plenty of sound.

Have a great trip! :goodvibes

I posted the same question a few days back. I'd love to figure this out as well - the same code came up on the confirmation for our January room-only reservation.:confused3

Hi everyone, posting live from the CL lounge. Arrivedat 11:30 today for our 1st poly stay, room wasn't ready because they realized we were assigned a 2nd floor room but had requested1st or 3rd. They wanted to meet our requst so had us wait, unfortunately the room wasn't ready until 4:30 and it was raining so we spent lots of unplnned time in the CL lounge tired and antsy... I will say though without the lounge it would have been rough. After a small nap and a little refresh were all feeling much better. We ended up with a wonderful 3rd floor GVroom, no issues so far but can see the issues with puddles mentioned outside of the 1st floor rooms. Since we had a late lunch at Captian Cooks CL food was perfect for dinner, tonightit wassome sort of bbq chicken and raspberry brie- delish!
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. :thumbsup2

Good to hear the live report! I'm so excited to hear about the lounges, as we've never stayed CL before.

We'll be in DW in 4 days, but won't be to the Poly until next Tuesday. If you guys are still there, we'll say hi :thumbsup2

I thought my fellow Polynesian resort fans would get a chuckle out of my new countdown timer. Just under 5 years until our next trip to WDW! LOL

I tried creating a DIS Boards countdown timer, but it wouldn't go past 1 year. I had to keep trying different tracker sites until I found one that would count up to 4 years and 10 months, etc. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Maybe those of you who feel like your trips within in the next months are taking forever to get here won't feel as bad!

Anyone have info or dates on East Pool rehab? Saw rumors from August {now} to March 2011. Concerned cause we are going in October and possibly March.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, mky
