We will be at the Poly for the Princess 1/2 and our TA requested Tokelau. The last time at the poly we were in the long house that faced the Volcano pool and loved that.

Do you think we should keep the Tokelau request? I hear the rooms are bigger, what are the other advantages?

Love Tokelau. I would guess it would be a quieter location than one near the Volcano pool. A lot of the GV rooms there actually have a nice lagoon view if you just look to the side. We personally prefer the East side (the west faces the quiet pool). Opens on to a nice grassy area, walkway is not close to the patios, very little foot traffic on that side - just Tahiti "residents" mainly. And a look to the left...beach and water!

Silly question no. 1
Do you think sunscreen is needed the last week of October?

I always need sunscreen on my nose and my neck. I'm just white.

Silly question no. 2
Do you think housekeeping might give me a bit of Dawn so that I can clean DS's sippy cup each day?

Can you tell I'm trying to pack light?

And, if you get some paper towels and lay them out on the counter, then swirl a very small amount of dawn on each one and let it dry, then you have some cleaners you can use on the cups.

I saw a nice tip regarding dish soap on the TIP BOARD packing thread....
take a sponge and cut it up into small squares, soak in dish soap, then let them dry. Wet them when you are ready to wash something. Not sure if it works, but sounds like it would to me, perfect for sippy cups (my first trip not bringing them this time!!!)


Thanks again for the well wishes for DD, she is better today. DS8 now with the fever and sore throat, but it seems short lived, he is already acting better and fever is gone. So far DH, DS11, and myself are symptom free!

A little less than four months, POLY here I come again...

I did online check in last night, really easy, hope it was the right move.

Need a little pixie dust and a prayers, DD6 has a terrible sore throat and 102.5 fever this am, off to the Dr. I'm actually hoping for strep only so I know we can treat it with antibiotics, ugh! I think we will be good by Saturday, but I really wasn't planning on this situation this week.

I know how you feel, it seems like my kids or myself gets sick right before a trip. Good luck I hope she feels better soon and that its something like allergies. Wishing you lots of Pixie dust. Have a great trip, things can only get better.

I just got an email from Disney about online check-in. We are arriving on Saturday. I thought that I read that if you are staying CL you shouldn't use online check-in. Does anyone know?

Saw a Nightline story recently about the hotel website Oyster.com, which specializes in unvarnished (and un-photoshopped) pictures/reviews of hotels. Checked it out and saw it includes the Polynesian (and other Disney resorts). There's over 79 pictures of the rooms alone and the review is from May of this year. Thought some others here might be interested ...

I will be at the Poly in less than a week. AHHHHHH! My life has been sooooo busy lately.... I honestly haven't had time to prepare myself for this trip. I have a day off today, I am doing laundry and packing, then I work up until the day before we leave. I am so excited, but I feel so not ready. Usually I have researched the resort, made a room request, had all my days planned/ADRS made. Not this time. This will be my first Disney trip with no room request.... I'm hoping it turns out ok. We have a couple ADRs but no set "plan". I'm freaking out a little.

ADRs? Who needs an ADR with F&W happening! Seriously though, we kind of flew by the seat of our pants last week and it was great. I had made five ADRs and we kept three. We are usually a one ADR a day type folks (typically a lunch). With F&W, we were so content to just eat our way around EPCOT and if we were hungry, pick up something at a CS. It was actually great to be so free.

We don't have a bunch of ADRs this time either. Hoping to try out a bunch of CS places b/c we don't usually eat at those too much.
I didn't make a room request except to have a full balcony. Sounds like there are good things about all of the buildings, so I figured I will see where the takes us. If it is really bad, we can always ask to switch.
