Aloha Isle Dole Whip at MK--Dairy or no?

Does anyone know if the Dole Whips at the MK contain diary or not? I read a few months back that dole changed the recipe to not include dairy, but that CMs at the MK location was saying that the Dole Whips there did still contain dairy....but they did not contain dairy at the Poly CS location...

So, any updates?

We are going next week and my baby has a milk protein allergy so that means no dairy for me. Hoping to treat myself to a dole whip, since my favorite ice cream treats are all out this time.

Pineapple and Orange Dole Whips do not contain any milk including casein. Original/vanilla Dole Whips do contain casein.

The problem with Aloha Isle is that they serve both vanilla and fruit flavours. When asked, a CM said that they make the different flavours all in the same bucket. They don't take any special precautions to ensure that the bucket is correctly cleaned to ensure no residue is left so there's a potential for cross contamination. So, it really depends on your own sensitivity as to whether or not they're safe.

If you do decide to try one at Aloha Isle then make sure to ask for yours to be served from the machine that only has pineapple and orange. Also ask for the server to put on fresh gloves and then get a cup from a fresh sleeve in order to avoid cross contamination.

I haven't heard anything about the precautions at Poly. My concern there is that it's self serve and with the huge Dole Whip towers that people create for themselves I don't see how no vanilla would get on the dispenser.

I don't ask for special handling request, just order the orange pineapple dole whip and enjoy and I have terrible lactose intolerance. If you are that sensitive here are dairy ease chewables.

My son is fully allergic to dairy and he loved the pineapple dole whip! I was so happy he could get one.

But we only had it at the poly since we were staying there. There they had the separate spigots for each flavor.

He couldn't have the vanilla since that had dairy in it.

This was in August btw.

Dole Whips are all lactose free, even the vanilla, so there's no need for anybody to worry about needing lactaid pills or any other kind of enzyme for lactose with Dole Whips. OP has to avoid casein which is the milk protein so that's a different situation and there are no pills for casein intolerance or allergies. Vanilla Dole Whips do contain casein.

You may already know this, but it is actually very rare for a baby with a milk allergy to be affected by a breastfeeding mother's consumption of dairy. I just say that because when my baby was diagnosed with a dairy allergy (when she was nine months old and ending up in the ER after trying yogurt) my pediatrician initially told me that I should give up all dairy, too. Our allergist, however, told us that was not true 90+% of the time, and for me, at least, I was able to consume dairy and still breastfeed with no adverse consequences for my baby.

I just throw it out there because I know how hard it is to give up all dairy (I did it for just a month (along with soy and other allergans)) and, if this isn't something you have explored with your allergist you may want to do so.

Good luck! Disney World is great with allergies. My DD is now 4 and Disney is one place where I can actually relax on vacation because I'm not worried about her having a reaction.
