Has anyone been to the Aloha dinner show at the Poly? Is it worth it? We're going down late August and are going to do "other things" other than Disney. We will do BB and TL for sure! We've though about the ride to Clearwater where you can snorkel then take a boat ride to see dolphins.

Hi! We did the Luau last year. The show was pretty good, the food mediocre. My dd, then 9, liked the dancers a lot. The story line is somewhat weak but that didn't matter much. Would we do it again? No. Once was enough for us.

We like it! It was worth the money we spent. Keep in mind you will be there in August and it is very Muggy the show is out doors so if the heat bothers you don't waste your money you will be uncomfortable.

I've done it and loved it. If you like the whole Poly. theme, I'd say go for it! We're getting married @ the Poly. in a few months! I love it there!

The food was not good at all. The show was good, but not really worth the $$ in my opinion. In August, it will be HOT as it is outdoors.
You might consider the HoopDee Do Review at Fort Wilderness. The show is good corny fun, the food is better and it is indoors (think air conditioning). Hope you have a good trip either way!

We went to the Luau in April 2003 and again April 2004. We enjoyed it very much and we thought the food was yummy. The fresh pineapple, the salad, the chicken, the ribs all were very tasty. Would we do it again? Maybe next year.

The old show was far superior to the new one. The new one reminds me of those schmaltzy ABC after-school specials or a "very special" episode of Full House. I was disappointed. The actual dancing was good, but too much time was wasted with a weak plot. Food is just ok.

We went to the luau last June. We were very excited about going after seeing Lilo and Stitch about 100 times! We even stopped in the gift shop prior to the dinner to purchase a luau skirt for our daughter. However, the whole experience was a bit of a disappointment. First of all, despite the advertisements, Lilo and Stitch were nowhere to be seen. The food was mediocre. The show basically detailed the different styles of Polynsian dances from the different islands. After awhile, the dances all looked the same. The fire dancer was exciting and very intense, but he wasn't until the very end of the show. There was a long period when they had birthday, anniversary, wedding, etc. celebrants up on the stage. Also, the kids did get to dance a little dance. We love the Poly resort and stay there often. However we definately would not go to the luau again.

We did the luau August 03 and wouldn't do it again. The food was fine, but the show is corny and at times boring! The Hoop Dee Do is funnier and the food is better IMO. The luau was better before they added the new script. It seems like the dancing has become an afterthought and it loses some of its authenticity with the corny script.
