It was my twins 7th Birthday today and whilst out to dinner I almost told them about the Disney trip! I was soooo wanting to tell them but ive also always wanted to tell them the day before or day of in a big surprise reveal,
My Dh said to me that Ive managed to keep it to myself since last July:eek: why ruin it now! Plus we have another son and it wouldnt of been fair even if his Birthday is during the Disney trip!

So I managed to reighn in my excitment and emotion and keep my mouth shut PHEW:lmao:

It's really hard not to tell them when you are so excited.:lmao:
Iam doing the same as you waiting till the day before to tell our youngest boys.My oler children do know so this helps me a bit.
Am like you want to tell but know the look on their faces :hyper::hyper: will be worth the wait.
looking forward to hearing how your boys react.
Rachael.

Well done for keeping it in! It's so hard when you are excited though, isn't it? :goodvibes It will be worth it to see their faces when you do the 'reveal' though!

I nearly slipped up so many times with OH (I booked our Disneymoon as a surprise) - particularly when I found out VailaTigger was going on the same dates as us! I was sneakily browsing on here and turned to OH to say 'oh there's someone else with the same honeymoon as us!' and fortunately only got as far as an excited 'oh!' - I played it down, but he was suspiciou ;)

I ended up telling him just before Christmas while we were on holiday - I wanted to tell him at our wedding (in 8 weeks- eek!) but I couldn't keep it in!

Do let us know about your kids' reaction when you tell them - I hope they are just bursting with happiness!

I have never surprised our two (8 & 6) with a Disney trip as there is too much planning/packing etc for me (personally) to keep it quiet...

However we did manage to surprise them with a trip to Lapland last December. I even managed to con them into visiting the ski shop to buy thermals, I just told them we were expecting a bad winter :lmao: Can't believe our eldest fell for it as she is far too clever for my liking these days :lmao:

I ordered them both a Christmas card from Moonpig and personalised it so that it looked like an invitation from Santa. We had to wake them up at 3am so I put their clocks forward so that they went to bed nice and early (thinking it was later than it was!!) and when they woke up, they thought it later than it was.

Their reaction was priceless, they were totally surprised and gobsmacked, I could cry just thinking of it now.... :lovestruc

We did find that it was harder to keep the secret just after booking and it got easier as time went on....

Keep your secret, it will be worth it in the end :goodvibes

I'm the same too, I've been keeping it secret since last August! We're going in October and I have made a dvd for them to watch the morning we leave and I can't wait to see their faces when they realise what's happening!

I've almost slipped a few times, forgetting they're in the room when talking to OH etc lol

As you know I suprised my 6 yr old earlier this month. 6 days was hard enough for me to keep quiet - don't know how you do it for longer.

Whilst we got her good and proper (she was clueless :)) she did say after she prefers to know and i've said we wont do it again - it was a one off.

She missed little things like packing her stuff and I did miss our this time next week we'll be doing x or y discussions.

Its been HARD :rotfl:
When we talk about Disney we say next yr so we talk about what rides, restaurents etc we want to eat at and ride,I feel at the moment i have the best of both They technically are planning just for next yr:lmao:

They picked a favourite place to eat each, they have seen ride videos of things at Universal they was too small to do,and I have shown them plenty of pics of SSR as we havent stayed there before!
I must keep it a secrete I just know my boys will love it as they often say Mum i wish you was waking us for Disney NOT school!!! If only they knew:)

I know its such a very long time to keep something so big like that to yourselves!
Normally I tell them as soon as I book and use it to make them behave for the next yr! brilliant idea about the DVD i have a rough idea what we will do just trying to plan it out :thumbsup2

That sounds sooo amazing! Ive always wanted to go to Lapland and Im going to make it my mission to take my mum and boys before they are too old,
My mum actually always wanted to take me as a child but it was soo expensive that we did Disney instead for the price of a few days.....

I just cant wait to see their faces :cool1:

This is what we're doing too, makes it much easier :D I've said we'll go in a year or two, saying I'd love to go back right now etc

So we can look at videos and rides, I've measured them both so I can say 'next time you'll be able to ride Rock n Roller Coaster', them having no clue next time is only 4 months away! :D

This is my DVD :D

We're going to fake a phonecall from the school in the morning telling us it's shut until 12pm because of an electrical fault, then we'll suggest they watch a DVD to pass the time...and this it what they'll watch :D (adverts at the beginning of what we'll be doing so it looks like a the start of a normal disney dvd, emergency announement comes at around 11 minutes) :D

I really want to do a surprise trip but I always end up blabbing from overexcitement  Im always really impressed with people that manage to keep it a secret until the last minute, I'm determined to do it one of these days!

That video is brilliant!!!! They will have no idea that they are going until the very last moment!!!

I think if you can hang in there and not slip up that will be the best suprise ever!!!

Maybe try and secretly film them near the end to capture there suprised face!

Something they will never forget!
