Almost new members

We jumped in, put the initial deposit down for BCV, 350 pts. Now, the question is this, we have 142 points we have to use by 3/1, and won't close for another 6-8 weeks. This gives us about 6 weeks to use these points (which shouldn't be a problem, who doesn't want to go on a spur of the moment vacation!), but should we have any concern getting a 2 bedroom at basically the last minute for mid February??

Assume you are buying a resale contract. If so, good luck with the ROFR process.

If you bought directly from Disney, you do not have to wait until after closing. As soon as Disney has your deposit, you will be issued a member number and can make reservations.

Even if you have to wait to close, you should be OK - as long as mid-February doesn't mean President's week (2/18 - 2/26) and as long as you are open to staying at any DVC on site resort.

We too are new - haven't even signed the contracts yet (I blame FedEx, I am not a patient person!! )

Agreeing that as long as it's not President's week, I think Feb should be a pretty easy time and since Saratoga Springs obviously hasn't sold out yet, I would feel pretty good about getting those reservations if you're willing to look at several resorts. We're not sure yet if we're even going to choose Saratoga Springs for our Dec trip, and we're brand new owners!

We were able to get the exact resevation we wanted over a Holiday weekend by calling again and again.

Members plans change daily so even if the dates and room type are not available today it could be tomarrow. If wait lists are available use them or just call day after day. I have always found member services to be helpful.
