Almost funny....if I wasn't sooo mad!!!!!!

So I've been trying to get an illuminations cruise for anytime between 9/24 and 9/29. So every morning I get up at 550am..OUCH....and go to my puter and start dialing at 556am. So this morning I get through very quickly, and like the thread on illuminations says...I tell the CM exactly what I want. I want the 8pm specialty cruise on 9/27 for 2 adults 2 children, leaving from Yacht and Beach. (BTW, if anyone has one to share....I would love you forever!!!!) She says, "which package are you on?" HUH??? I'm thinking why does that matter, but I tell her MYW plus dining. She says, "WELL, IT'S NOT INLCUDED",.......who cares???? Just book it....every second counts!!!! The she asks, "HOW MANY IN YOUR PARTY?", well of course by this time I know the cruises are all gone, but I tell her and she continues on and tells me there are none left. I wanna say....no *&^%, BUT i RESTRAIN MYSELF. Then I say I want to make dinner reservations for that day instead then. She says, "WHAT DAY?" UGHHHHH. Sept. 27th I say. Then she says....get this....."How many in your party?" Hellllooooooooo....is anybody listening over there. I say...2 adults, 2 children. She asks what restaurant....I tell her Chef Mickey's and she says.....are you ready for this??? She says....."Do you have any children in your party?" WHAT???????? Then she asks if I'm staying on property......I told you that when I told you I was on the package.....you can't stay off property on a package. She makes the ressie, and then I ask her to make ressies for Whispering Canyon that same evening.....and she tells me there are no characters at that restaurant. Again......WHO CARES??????? Sooooo frustrating!!!!!

It is very frustrating to get a CM "who doesn't have a clue" when you are trying for an extremely hard to get PS. I called this AM for CRT and the CM I got talked extremely slow. I thought OH NO not getting them. But after I told him the time I wanted, He said, Its locked in ma'am, you can breathe now. LOL Good Luck with trying to get your cruise. I know how frustrating it can be.

I'm so sorry. I called this morning for an Illuminations Cruise also and didn't get it although I followed the directions to a T. I did have an awesome rep though that as soon as I said I wanted the 8pm specialty cruise she asked is we wanted to see Illuminations. But they were all gone. The other person calling for us though did get one so we really lucked out. I would gladly share it too....but we have 9 adults and 2 children so we're at the boat's capacity already. Better luck tomorrow!!

Find out who does have it booked for those dates and see if you can split to cost (since you are only 4). Then, when you arrive at WDW call the YC Marina and see if their was a cancellation and try to book your own. If you get your own boat, please let the nice person you were going to split the cruise with the courtesy of knowing that you got your own boat.

If you do this I would be upfront with your intentions when you take the 4 spots. They may be a little ticked if they were budgeting for splitting the cost and you cancel leaving them trying to find other people at somewhat the last minute.

Well, I reserved ours also this week. I did everything as instructed and got thru at 7:01. Before the CM could say a word I blurted:
"IWANNAANILLUMINATIONSCRUISEFOR
SEPTEMBER25FORNINEADULTS"
She laughed and I got the last boat left, I am also adding a champagne & tuxedo strawberry package. If we had room I would've been happy to have your family join us. I hope that you are able to get a cruise.

There are many things that could have caused her incomprehension. I'm sorry you had trouble, but please remember some of the people are new. if it's so important for you to have, I suggest you be flexible in your dates.

As for her asking you over and over again, she's doing her job.

I am confused though by one thing. When I called to reserve my cruise for next week I called the recreation line 1-407-WDW-PLAY. When I called for PS's I called the disney dining line. Maybe that's why she was confused...

OMG, I think I had that same lady! Did he also tell you her life story? She asked me the same questions over and over while I was trying to make dinner reservations. I ended up with not one single reservation I wanted, inspite of calling 85 days in advance.

why doesn't Disney just cut the CMs out of the equation and let people book online?
It would save the expense of LD phone calls and CMs having to do a job that most of us can do ourselves.
Of course, as with all on line things, still leave phone cms for folks that don't do computers

I know how you must have felt. Last year I got up at 5:45 (our time) to start calling every am for a cruise. One morning I actually got through right away only to have the girl tell me they were booking for the day I asked for. Yes they were!! I had already done the ps calculator and figured the days everyway imaginable. But no go with this cm.

I know how you feel, I called yesterday to try and get CRT and the guy on the other line argued with me for 10 mintues that there was no dinner at the Royal Table only breakfast, then I said what about lunch and he said no breakfast only, I told him I was called back to talk to someone who knew what they were doing. Disney should train their CM better so they at least know what they are talking about

Argh. The same thing happened to me last year trying to get Cinderella breakfast reservations. I knew I was screwed when after being on hold for a few minutes, the 'computer' answered rather than a live person. It wanted me to enter my home phone number (followed by the pound key ) and then asked me how many times I'd visited WDW... blah, blah, blah...
Well surprise, surprise, by the time I got a 'live' person, all of the reservations were gone.
Whatever happened to the day when you called a number and got a live person? Why is the number of recent visits to WDW relevant to dining reservations? IMO, they can ask me any question they want (name, rank, serial number, favorite color, medical history, political affiliation, etc. ) AFTER they lock in my ressies!!!
