Even an RN that is 6 months pregnant has been called back!

When I think about how many people are already deployed, and the ones that are getting ready....the numbers are frightening.

Looks like the Gov't. is preparing for us to go to war.

I think war has been in the cards for a long time now. We have to hope our people all come back safe and sound when it's all over.

I can't imagine being called up 6 months pregnant, though. Of course, I can't imagine being pregnant, but you know what I mean, I hope.

I am so amazed that a pregnant nurse would be called up.

Blondie - there is something in the air that is so sad and so urgent. When I see the threads about the soldiers who have all ready been sent overseas, they remind me of my own experiences with my family and Vietnam. Maybe that's why I feel that sense of urgency again.

I'm sorry. I'm sorry for your friends and I'm especially sorry for your pregnant friend. Why would that be necessary!

I've felt that war was inevidable once this whole thing started. I hope I'm wrong and things change quickly. It will be one of the few times in life I'll be happy to admit I'm wrong.

Luckily for my nurse friend, she'll be able to get a letter from her OB stating that she is high risk (which is somewhat true) and she'll get out of it.

But she said they can still call on her when she is 6 weeks post-partum.

My daughters boyfriend is in the Reserves and has been called. He is a college senior and two months away from graduation!! I thought that they didn't call kids in school???

My nephew leaves Monday for overseas. He also was a student in the Reserves. Maybe they took the part about not being called up if you were in school out when they made the military all voluntary.

I thank God that there are so many willing volunteers to defend our country and pray for all their safety.

I have a pregnant friend in the army reserves. I'm pretty sure she told me she can't be deployed until the baby is 6 months (though I think she could be called up to work active duty at her local unit). I'll have to ask her again to be sure.

Maybe they'll call my cousin's evil soon to be ex-husband..... We have a friend who is a Marine Tank Unit Commander who has been in Kuwait for weeks now. Another who is a boom operator on a KC-135 who is still home (as of this morning). Let's hope this is over with sooner rather than later. I saw an Iraqi woman on the news yesterday, she told about the atrocities her family endured under Hussein's rule..... these people need to be liberated.

If there's a draft they won't pull a person out of school. However being in the reserves is a different ball of wax.

She wouldn't be going to the front line, they'd have her at a hospital they'd be sending the wounded to.

I believe they are activating just about every able bodied man/woman in our military right now. I know that is an exageration but it sure does seem like we are sending more people than we did in dessert storm.
