Almost crossed over to the dark (Croc) side... advice please!

Hi guys!

Our trip is in less than 10 days (whoooooop whoop!) and yesterday I found a pair of Crocs that didn't look Croc-y - a major plus since my dh and I have sworn them off forever... or did we??

They were $50, and they fit well. Has anyone worn these to WDW? Do your feet get all sweaty and then spooosh around in rubber shoes? Do these really keep you comfy all day? Do they melt in the high heat? Am I crazy to worry about that? (Don't answer that!)

Also, do I need to wear these in?

DH, DS5, DD7 and I all wore them last trip...the whole trip. They are especially perfect when your feet get wet because they dry so quickly. Nothing worse than wet shoes Our feet didn't sweat at all....and....um....no, they won't melt!

Yeah, yeah, laugh it up! Seriously though, mine are the Alice Sueded kind, without holes. You think that should do it?

I wear the Alice ones to work. My feet do sweat in them, I find for the parks the ones like cleo or ones that look like sandals are the best.

I was never going to wear them either til I went Disney and picked up a pair. We wore them all over! The only problem I had was that it was 110 degrees when we were there and my feet were a little sweaty and I got a blister on the top of my foot. That being said, everything was sweaty! I never have any problems normally. They are very light and comfy. At that time I was also having problems with my feet and they didn't bother me at all.

When I went last month, I had my running shoes, crocs, and Nike sandals that are ancient. I started with the runners. As my feet swelled, the orthotics hurt and I ended up with some hot spots on the edge of my feet. Stuck on some moleskin and tried the sandals. Ugh. The balls of my feet were now hot. Added moleskin. Time for the Crocs. I actually started with socks on-to protect those hot spots-and they worked really well. For the rest of the trip it was Crocs and socks in the bag in case they started to rub.

Interesting fact, though. While my Crocs do rub the top of my foot (at the 'ankle area'), my Holey's don't. My Holey's, however, are so worn that if I had worn them at Disney and it rained, I would have been flat on my behind!

My crocs give me blisters. I only could wear them for one park day. They were way too wide and my toes were cramping just to keep them on. After advice here, I purchased Holey's and they fit me perfectly, I've worn them all summer ... great for soccer moms!

I guess the key is it's not the "name" that matters, but finding a style/company that fits your feet in order to be comfortable.

I have found that the Crocs that say they were made in China are the ones that give me blisters. For me the ones that say made in Canada are much softer and more cushiony. I ordered dh and I Holeys for Christmas because the new xp2 have grip on the bottoms.

I have also found that there are differences in Crocs depending on where they were made. Canadian Crocs are made of a softer/squishier material than China or Colorado ones. I have very narrow feet and have found that Beach Crocs made in Canada and China fit more narrow than the Colorado crocs (Canada narrower than China).

So if you have trouble getting a good fit, check the bottoms and see where they are made.

I had sworn I would never buy Crocs, too. Are Holeys more narrow-fitting than Crocs? I have very narrow feet.
I have heard that children often get hurt trying to run in Crocs...is there no truth to that?

I wore only Holeys last summer (with my narrow feet) and they do tend to fit more narrow. However, since finding out that Crocs made at different factories fit differently, I've been able to find many pairs of Crocs (Beach) which fit me perfect. Crocs are much easier to find than Holeys. Also, if you can get the "Cayman" style Crocs, they fit much more narrow than the "Beach" style, but you'd have to order them online since Canadian stores only carry "Beach". (except I found Caymans at Costco 2 weeks ago...must have been shipped in from the U.S.) I'd try looking for more narrow "Beach" Crocs first though.

Holeys are hard to find and when you do the selection of colours and sizes are limited. I just ordered directly from their website and they charged me 6 bucks to ship them. My ds5 has been running around in Crocs since he was 2 and never waxed out. When dd was 10 she wiped out on the pavement at mgm running after they had hosed down main street in the morn

Hi,

I wore a pair of black strappy sandle style Dawgs when we went to WDW in May and I had very happy feet! My kids were all in Crocs and two of them got blisters because they refused to wear socks in them. Once they put on the moisture wicking socks, they were fine!

We found out quickly that happy feet are key at WDW!!!

Can't wait to go back! Have a great trip!

I have those Crocs in red I bought them for $50 at the Bay. Most people are surprised when I tell them they're Crocs - they're probably thinking of the Beach style.

The shoes are comfy, I didn't have any problems with the shoe rubbing and giving me blisters. But my feet do get sweaty and the shoes do get squeaky. I've also had a bit of a problem with my arches when I wear those particular style. It could be that my feet are on the flatter side but I don't have the same problem in the Beach.

I wore them at West Ed today and I have two blisters on my baby toe. My left foot is smaller than the right, hence the blisters. Nothing a little moleskin won't take care of.

I paid $50, too, at Intersport. No one thinks mine are Crocs either.

What is moleskin? I'm thinking of getting crocs for me and my 2 ds's. My IL's already have like 3 pairs each... lol..
