We're taking our second cruise Feb 28. Our kids will be 8, 5, almost 3, and 7 months. Our third child will turn three on April 10, so he's 6 weeks shy of being three. Will they let him into the kids club, or will he have to stay in Founder's Reef? He's 100% potty trained and can go/wipe/wash by himself.

On our last cruise, our dd was two weeks shy and they bumped her up so she didn't have to be in Flounders.

From what I remember, the nursery seemed more suited to the 2 and under age group.

Thanks for your insight!

If he can handle his personal hygiene needs, he can be in the Oceaneer's Club. You won't be able to pre-register him on line, but can get him in by talking to the CMs in the terminal or after boarding. They will tell you it's a "trial," but as long as he doesn't have more than one accident, he's in.

Thanks kcashner. I was really hoping they would let him in as he wants to be a "big kid" like his older brother and sister. It'd break his little heart if he couldn't go with them and had to stay with the baby.

My 3 year old was completely potty trained but prefered Flounders. The club was just too much for her. (she gets over-stimulated easily).

Even now at 6, she prefers the club. She could easily go to the lab with the 5-7 year olds, but prefers the younger kids.

The staff at Flounders loved her. She was a "helper" and helped take care of the babies.

The Oceaneer's Club is for ages 3-7. Yes, they occasionally take the 5-7s to the Lab, but not when the older kids are there. The Lab group was 8-12 on the Wonder, 8-10 on the Magic. Of course with the new program, they choose the activity, not the age group.

Well, the last few sailings I noticed the 5-7's in the lab a lot, the 10-12 year olds were not in there, but 8-10's were.

This past sailing a few weeks ago, most of the activities I thought she would enjoy were in the lab. So yes, technically 5-7's are in the club, but they do spend a great deal of the time in the lab as well.

I guess my point was that the club can be a little overwhelming for a "almost 3" or just turned 3 year old. Lots of running, darker environment, lots of stimulation.
