Hi~We are traveling with our friends who have an 2 1/2 yr. old. Anyone have an experience with a child around this age in Flounder's? We aren't sure of the availability, the hours, or if older toddler/pre-school age are kept busy enough or are provided with activities. Anyone? :confused3

SOme people said their almost 3 years olds liked it there but my daughter hated it. She said they were all babies and there were just baby toys and she didn't want to go back again. It varies with each kid. But people should be prepared for their kids not liking flounders and the clubs and be ok with them spending the whole cruise with them just in case!

My Disney son was 2 1/2 when we cruised. He thought it was cool he had his own club like his big sister, but didn't really play. He sat and watched Toy Story. I only used Flounders once, for our Palo ressies. I'm glad he went, he was fine, but I can't image putting him in there for a long period of time. The toys are for younger kids.

If your 2 1/2 yo is fully potty trained they will accept them in the club on a "trial" basis. That is what we did with our 2 1/2 yo DD on our last cruise. She did well and always used the potty at home independently so I wanted to try it. Kids will sometimes have accidents in new situations and that is what happened to her. She was speech delayed and I spoke with the counselors every time she went to OC but apparently they had changed shifts and had not relayed the info. I was paged that she had an accident and when I got to OC about 2 min after the beeper went off they had her out of her wet clothes and in a magic t shirt watching tv with a counselor. When I was checking her out they asked me to bring her back after I changed her. I didn't but they were wonderful with her. She probably only spent 4 1/2 hrs total in OC on our 7 day cruise but she loved it.

My 1 1/2 yo went to flounders and really enjoyed it there. Almost all toys are for infants and young toddlers. I noticed the 2 times I dropped her off there that all of the older kids (2 and up) were sitting on the floor watching disney movies. When I went to pick her up 2 hours later there were still kids sitting and watching TV so I feel that if the older kids go there that they will be seeing alot of movies. :3dglasses

Thanks! We are really hoping she can join her sister in the kid's club. She is so tall, and already goes to pre-school and would do much better with the 3-4 yr olds. :sunny:
