Part 3: Day Two

DH had never been to Universal Studios so he caught a shuttle early that morning to go explore on his own. DH will post a Universal Studios Trip Report under the US thread under my name (ILMOUSE). My parents and I took DD to Animal Kingdom as it was not open on our last trip.

Our first ride at AK was the Kilamanjaro Safari. We all loved the ride including DD. After we got off the Safari, DD feel asleep in her stroller so we walked around the park for awhile. We went to the Tarzan Rocks show as DD was still asleep at noon. None of us really got into the show but DD woke up as it was starting and she enjoyed the show. She stood on the seat and danced and clapped throughout the show. After the show was over, we made our way to Restarantasaurus (McDonnald’s) for lunch.

Earlier we had seen the meeting place for Pooh and His Friends while DD was sleeping. We decided to go back now that she was awake as Pooh is her favorite Disney character (her nursery was Pooh themed). DD loved seeing the characters—Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore. There was no line for Pooh so she ran up to him and gave him a big hug. She managed to give each one a kiss and a hug. She did have difficulty understanding that she couldn’t go back to Pooh as other kids were waiting to see him. We managed to get some good pictures here.

Next we went to “A Bugs Life”. DD did not wear the 3D glasses. She enjoyed the show and never got scared or upset. We all enjoyed the special effects, but I can see where young children would get scared.

By this point, we were starting to get tired and needed a break so we headed back to Pop Century to meet up with DH and rest up as we were headed to MK that night for Spectromagic and Wishes.

Spectromagic and Wishes

When we arrived at the MK, we decided to go to Frontierland to watch Spectromagic. We managed to find a place in front of Pecos Bills. Mom and I found seats while DH and Dad went to get food. Spectromagic was great and enjoyed by all. DD did get fussy as there were periods of time during the parade that nothing was going past us. Of course, it was nearing her bedtime.

After Spectromagic, we decided to head back to Main Street to locate a spot to watch Wishes. I went ahead to get milk and warm a bottle at the Baby Center for DD as it was close to her bedtime. The others managed to get to the Baby Center at the same time as I had gotten stuck in the crowds.

We had a great spot by the Baby Center to enjoy the show. DD drank her milk and watched the show. She never had any problems with the fireworks as I know some kids get scared due to the loud noises.

After Wishes ended, DH got ice cream for both of us (although my DD ended up eating most of mine) as we waited for the crowd to disperse. We finally did start out to the bus stop to find long lines for every form of transportation. I will say we were lucky. Although the line for Pop Century was out of its area, they brought in extra buses and our wait was not that bad. DD was so sleepy but was too busy taking in all the people to go to sleep. However she did go to sleep as soon as we got back to the room.

To be continued….
