It been a very hot fall here in Texas. Until a few days ago, the temperature was exceeding 100 every day, so we met with great anticipation the news that a cold front was coming. I arived yesterday, and the temperature is sooo much more comfortable now, but I am wishing for the heatwave back.
Why, you ask? How nice of you to enquire. The reason is simple. The arrival of the coldfront seems to a have triggered a biological imperitive to breed amongst our local ragweed population. I know this because the pollen count is skyrocketing and my nose is running like an Olympic sprinter on steriods. So now, instead of enjoying a nice cool autum day, I am instead rapidly becoming the poster boy for Benedryl, all becuase Austin's flora have decided now would be a good time to do the agricultural version of the wild thing.
Great, the local rag weed population has a collective hot date, and I become Mr Mucus Man.
Sigh. Oh well. Just pass me the Kleenex and the Benydryl and wake me when its over.

Allergies suck! And all antihistamines put me to sleep---especially when they say "non-drowsy" formula.
