My allergies are actually debilitating. I have had to stay home yesterday cause I could hardly breathe. I went through a box of Kleenex in a matter of hours and it wakes me during the night sneezing.

I have tried every allergy medicine on the market but NONE work for this time of year for me. The pollen report says "Spore levels high" every time I have an attack like this.

My Doc says that he can't do anything but I want to see an allergy specialist...

Anyone else have a problem with Spore level allergies? What do you do???

I am in agony....HELP is appreciated.

I used to be like that. I did allergy shots for 6yrs. Now I am not allergy "free" or anything however I can get out of bed and live thru the day.

My eyes would be almost swollen shut when I would have an attack.

Your doctor sounds like he is a "non-believer" of allergies or treatment. I have actually run into doctors that poo-poo allergies.

I think I know where the problem is. I only get this way in late August to late September...Right in our busy season when I work 12 to 15 hr days, 7 days a week. I only get to see the Doc in October when I am no longer going through the symptoms...I think he just does not realize how sick I get....I need to get an appointment on a day when I am really sick and then he would see. I am going to ask to see an allergist next time I see him. He's good at meeting my requests cause I have so few of them...

It's nice to know I am not alone.

I was like that all yr long so, I had to do something. It was debilitating.

So maybe it is ragweed? I suspect that is your allergy.

I would not do shots for a two month problem. Shots are once a week, all yr long. I would see an allergist to find out how severe the fall allergy is though.

Seriously, you should see an allergist. I have multiple indoor and outdoor allergies, and have always resisted testing, assuming that one of the over the counter meds was all that could be done.

It took multiple sinus infections and bouts of laryngitis over an entire year to get me there. The doc started me on allergy shots, and I've seen a big difference. They're not gone, but there less bad, and it's only been a few months.

If you don't know anything about allergy shots, they actually shoot you up with the thing that you're allergic to so that your body learns how not to be allergic--or not as allergic, at least.

I just came back from the pharmacy with $80 worth of allergy meds...I really need this allergy season over and done with.
