Sorry if posted, I could not get he search feature to work.

Noticed when I priced tickets that they offered a shuttle from the Sanford airport to hotels. Pricey at $65 a person all ages.

Where did you find that at? At this point we're stuck with a car service for $200 round trip. We're obviously too used to DL. I've been shocked to find no big shuttle service from Sanford. Seems like a huge lost opportunity for local shuttle services.

If I remember correctly, that shuttle doesn't run very frequently. I think I remember American Coach being there the last time I flew into Sanford.
I used both a car service, which was expensive, and rental cars when flying in there. The drive is very easy. If you can rent a car, that's what I would do.

I agree w/goofy4tink...renting a car is the way to go.

Sometimes you can get good deals...DH and I were able to rent a car for 3 days for $130 when we went in January. Much less than using a car service each way, plus then we were able to park near our room at POP and drive to the parks!

There probably isn't enough volume to make it worth it, they'd rather have their vehicles at MCO with more opportunities.

There is a large list on the airport website:

The info is located on the rental car page at the bottom when you are pricing a ticket. You can ONLY buy the shuttle service during the purchasing of your airline ticket. It can not be bought after the fact. And remember this is not a direct shuttle to Disney its a shared shuttle so you will be stopping at all the hotels and resorts on the International Corridor, Orlando, DisneyWorld Resorts. So a rental car would be faster.

Probably a very tiny market. Only about a dozen flights a day land in Sanford. Private transportation service will be cheaper then shared service for 4 or more passengers and won't be much more expensive for a party of 3. The demand is for parties of 1 and 2. So few you'd wind up having to wait in the airport for additional flights to land and/or would be making multiple stops.

I'm seriously considering moving to Orlando, and buying a full size van. Then, I can make several runs daily to between Sanford Intl and WDW. I could charge much less than other companies do...maybe just book DISers!!! That would be a ton of fun!!!!

We flew into Sanford last year and used Orlando Chaffered Services. Much cheaper than a cab and very professional service. We had 7 people and I think we ended up at $15 each way per person or thereabouts. I highly recommend them!

Hi Tara, have you flown ABE lately? I hated the security level up then come back down again......we went Allegiant last year, flying USAir in Sept to MCO.

That was were I saw the cost, at the point you can rent a car. We rented a mini van last Fall from Enterprise for $303. For five of us the shuttle would be too much. I watched for he rates to drop, which they did the week before.

It does stop at other hotels, this is the first I saw the availability.

Goofy4tink, you may be onto something there, lol.

I last flew ABE in March (Frontier to MCO, right before Frontier left ABE), then in April (USAir to MCO). I have an August trip booked & no airfare yet - USAir is running around $400RT from ABE. Allegiant is much cheaper, but coming back they leave Sanford at 8am......ugh ugh ugh!

That's my dellema coming back so early. AVP isn't as early but an hour or so drive for you. I don't mind it, turnpike to W.B. I 81 a few miles is the airport.

September We are doing USAir from ABE to PHL, to MCO with ME $200 round trip with a return back through Charlotte. To ABE.

Even the so called $77, flights on Allegiant you pay $40 for a checked bag. I like the 2 hr flight though. Last Fall we did Allegiant nd five of us flew for $750 and $303 minivan rental. Traveling back we used AVP for $55 seats. I want to use the ME this girls trip.

I really try to avoid PHL because of the traffic on Skukyll Expy, everything I found out of Harrisburg is $$$ these days.

I did just book my return flight MCO-ABE (via PHL) for $103 per person one way...too bad going down is at $371pp one way! INSANE! Looks like we'll be going a day early on Allegiant & using a car service. Even adding a room that extra night is much cheaper than paying USAir rates.

I go on girls trips with ladies from all over the eastern half of the state so we've used PHL, ABE, Harrisburg & Wilkes Barre/Scranton. I generally will pay more for ABE because I have kids & just need to be coming & going from a convenient airport. I'm only 15-20 min. from ABE. The other ladies will go from one & come home to another airport, whatever has the best deal!

I was pricing out airfare for a solo trip :cool1: in July. Allegiant started offering that shuttle from SFB beginning 3/25/13. Since it's just me, I was planning on using it. Round trip from ABE-SFB with 1 carry on (Allegiant now charges for a CARRY ON!?! sheesh); seat selection; and shuttle was, if I remember correctly, $268 but I hated the flight times - I'd land around 8:40 pm and take off 10:20 am. Yuck! USAir has a killer fare that I found. ABE-PHL-MCO and then MCO-CLT-ABE for $204.10! :thumbsup2 Much better flight times; cheaper fare; AND I can use ME. :woohoo:

I think I'm ready to bite the bullet & book Allegiant...I can get 2 seats for $79 & the 3rd for $99 (plus $13 each for carry-on, plus $14 each if I want to pick my seats, etc, etc, etc but its still cheaper than the $371 per person on USAir!!!)....I see tons of car services on the Sanford airport website but know nothing about any - except Mears. Mears has a 1-way service to WDW resorts for $135. Anyone use someone else they can recommend that's cheaper? If not I'll book them, they're reputable & I've used them before.

Now to find a room for the 1st night! Anyone have 18 DVC points they want to rent?
