Allegiant flying into Sanford again in 2011

I always like to check out the prices for flights to Orlando, so I was scoping out Allegiant's site and see that as of February, they will be flying into Sanford again. I guess the whole MCO thing didn't work out! I happen to like Sanford, so this works for me. I just wanted to let my fellow DIS-ers know about the change!

I was scoping out Allegiant's site and see that as of February, they will be flying into Sanford again. I guess the whole MCO thing didn't work out!

Allegiant supposedly moved some (but not all) of its flights to MCO in response to AirTran starting competing flights to the same cities, but from MCO instead of SFB. Now AirTran is going to be bought by Southwest, which likely won't continue those flights (the Southwest business model doesn't usually include low-frequency flights). Thus, no long-term reason for Allegiant to remain at MCO and pay its higher fees...
