Allegiant and the carryon bag dimensions

Hi everyone ~ we booked an insanely good Allegiant ticket in late December / early January and prepaid for two carryons and two checked bags. I was on their site today looking at the max dimensions for the bags they allow, and it seems pretty small. For those who have flown Allegiant, what do you do for a carryon? I was looking to buy a Vera Bradley backpack that I thought I was use as my carryon, but it looks about 1-2" too tall for their maxes. Heck, my purse that I carry everyday looks to be too large for a personal item.

What do you use for your carry on and checked bags when you fly with Allegiant? I am thinking for the checked bag, I'll have to use what is normally a carryon bag with other airlines.

Their carry-on size allowance is 9" H x 14" W x 22" D. That's pretty standard. Your personal item can be 7" H x 15" W x 16" D, again pretty standard.

I hope you aren't lugging around a purse measuring more than 9" H x 14" W x 22" D!

Thank you; it just sounded small to me when I was looking at the info on their website. My purse that I carry is 9" x 13.5" without the handles; not quite that depth but I don't think it's hard to go over 9H" x 14"W on a handbag.

I just don't want to get to the airport and have to fork over $$$. Trying to do a bit of planning now on what bags I'll take.

I flew in Allegiant in January. I didn't take a carry on (didn't want to pay for it), but the carry ons that I saw were the standard smaller rolly-bag type (does that make ANY sense)? You know...the smaller piece that usually comes in a set.

As far as the personal item...I carry a fairly large purse regularly (gotta be prepared for everything!!) and the personal item I took was even larger than my purse. They never measured it. As long as it fits underneath the seat in front of you, you'll be fine.
