Hi,
Okay, found a decent airfare for April via Allegiant air but have to fly into Sanford. Okay, can deal with that. But . . . they charge $11 p/p per leg of trip to have assigned seats. I will be traveling with a 3 and 6 year old. I hate to add $22 to the cost of each of the tickets - savings won't be any good. Has anyone flown with them? Is it very likely to sit with your family without paying the extra $?

We paid for the seating because we have 2 year old and don not want to take any chances. Our plane was about 3/4 full when I booked it. The way back was less ,but I still did it. So it was 66 extra total for both ways. I have heard people say that if the plane isn't full there is no problems. And they will definately try to get you together, but no guarentees. I jsut didn't want to chance it. Look at how full your flight looks and maybe decide then?

I just flew allegiant and with little kids I would not chance it . We did not pay for it on the trip back and they were gracious enough to give us seats all together when we checked in but I do not know if this is a standard procedure or we just got lucky.
If the kids were older then I probably would not care.

It's a small price to pay considering what you save on tickets. I wouldn't risk being 30 rows away from a small child.:thumbsup2

I did pay the fee. I'm a bit apprehensive about Allegiant - new aiport and airline for me, no ME, but I'm gonna' give it a whirl (with assigned seats.)

Flying Allegiant cost more for us ,but is at a closer airport.

We flew w/ them in Jan of 2006 and found them to be great. We did not pay extra to have the assigned seats and found that they were very accomodating with the seating. They made sure that our DD was right with us. We do live in a small town and fly out of Springfield, MO which has a population of around 100,000. So the small airport may have helped the seating situation.
