From AllEarsNet.com:

Two new restaurants are coming to Walt Disney World! Expect a new Asian restaurant coming to the Village of Anandapur in Animal Kingdom's Asia in the summer of 2007! The eatery will include table service as well as quick service and retail space. In early 2008, look for a new themed dining in Downtown Disney - T-Rex: A prehistoric Family Adventure. There will be life size animatronic dinosaurs, a dig site and much more. The table service restaurant will include waterfalls and geysers. Both restaurants will be operated by Landry's Restaurants which operate the Rainforest Cafes. (2/27/06)

Sounds fantastic I love asian food its my favorite! Funny I just loked on allears 20 mins ago and there were no updates back then! Great scoop. :thumbsup2

Hm. Wonder what they're going to tear down for that t rex place.

Thanks for the info! :cool1: That Asian place will be on my list for Oct 2007.

That would be great - two themed restaurants in DTD, both with animatronic animals - since they're both be by the company that built the Rainforest Cafe, you know the food will be good!

That's the first thing that came to my mind. Not the Adventurer's Club I hope.

If it is, I'll be the one standing in the corner, holding my 5th martini and singing the beer song at the electric dinosaur.

wow - a TS in AK! Excited but this means the DDE won't be good at the AK cs places!! :(

Since it would be located in Anandapur, can we assume that the Asian restaurant will serve Indian cuisine? :thumbsup2

Wouldn't count on it, Bicker...I'm anticipating takeout quality Chinese, although I would love to see them come up with some Indian or Thai dishes.

good catch about the DDE card, Lillygator. There goes a bit of its value.

On Deb's website, it mentions that the AK restaurant will serve asian food. I imagine stir fry etc.

For the Rainforest Cafe Part II, they could put it down past the Cirque dE soi. There has been rumors that they were thinking of expanding down that way.

I have no idea what you just said. :confused3 Mind translating for the acronym impaired? :headache:

Can you use the DDE at AK now, even though there is a RFC? The new restaurant will be run by Landry's, not Disney, so maybe you will still be able to use it.

DDE: Disney Dining Experience
CS: counter service
AK: Animal Kingdom
TS: table service

It does get confusing doesn't it?

The Disney Dining Experience is a discount program for Florida residents and annual passholders, if you join you get a discount at most Disney table service restaurants.

Because Animal Kingdom has no table service restaurants in the park, they allow you to use DDE at counter service locations there.

Once they put a table service restaurant in the park, we think it likely that they will stop allowing use of DDE at the counter service locations.

Rainforest Cafe is a table service location, but it is located outside the park. Even if the new restaurant is not owned or run by Disney, it's possible it will be arranged so that DDE can be used there; its use is allowed at several Epcot restaurants that are not Disney-owned.

This is exactly why I'm afraid the restaurant WON'T be good - I can't stand the Rainforest Cafe, I think the food is mediocre quality for undeserved prices. At least at the Disney owned restaurants, I get much higher quality at the same prices. I've never been terribly thrilled with any of the Landry's places I've been to.

I'm hoping that since there will only be one TS inside the park, DDE will still be available at the CS at the Animal Kingdom.
