We're going to try the Alladin's Oasis Fantasmic Dinner package, but we have a couple of questions. First, is the actually Alladin's Oasis open to sit and eat if we want (I mean the little former restaurant area, not the Meet & Greet area)? Also, how do the viewing areas compare? Is the Blue Bayou Fantasmic viewing area the best, and they go down from there? We're going 2/6-2/8, and have the option of going either Friday or Saturday night.

There was an episode of Fresh Baked Disney on YouTube a couple weeks ago where they scoped it out and you could definitely sit and eat. It seemed like a quiet place to be too.

I had the same questions about sitting areas and did some googling. Blue Bayou does in fact have the best seating area. I also read that there's no where designated to eat, but plenty of places nearby to set up and eat your Aladdins meal.

There are plenty of tables and chairs, some under a canopy and some in the open

I thought the Alladin Oasis package came with a regular fastpass and not a reserved section.

We did this package last night. We sat inside Aladdin's Oasis and had a very nice and attentive server. It was quiet. What I didn't realize is that if you make a dinner reservation, you will automatically get the 10:45pm show. (oops - guess I need to read the fine print more.) The cast members were very accommodating and they did still have some passes for the 8:45pm show.

Food was decent. Not supper hot would be my only complaint. 3 of us had the chicken and I think it was healthier than if we ate somewhere else in the park. One DD doesn't like cheesecake and they switched it out for the cookie. (She's 17 going on 7. Ha ha)

Seating was another issue all together. The package gets you a FP but not priority seating. The River Bell Terrace and Blue Bayou packages definitely got better seating locations. We ended up in a long line and a clump of people. 3 of the 4 of us are short and we had a terrible view. We ended up getting out the of the FP area and moving to the walk up viewing area. That got us a better view.

I'm not sure I'd do this again, however. It worked out last night but it might not always be that way. I much prefer the larger viewing area of World of Color. But because we were unable to arrive at the park until mid-afternoon, the dining package gave us the security of knowing we'd get a FP.

I will say, however, that the new system made walking around NO Square a much more pleasant experience. There weren't people reserving spots 2+ hours in advance. It made getting to Big Thunder and Pirates a much more pleasant experience. We normally would avoid those areas because of Fantasmic.

Do you know if the dessert party has a reserved area? Or is it just a FP but not a reserved viewing area?
