All you need is to believe....~Our Sizzling Summer Getaway! July 2012~~ TR started!:)

We just saw the extended hours too, so excited.

Congrats on your sons moving up ceremony.

Don't change too many plans, it looks like you have a great time planned.

Casey Jr area is going to be crowded I bet. I don't think we will take a change as it will probably dry quickly enough in that Fl heat.

Fun update from 2008... sorry the 2009 update disappeared on you. I always use Word too but from time to time, when I don't, things disappear on me too. :headache:

Woo hoo for 19 days!!! :cool1:

How exciting for move up day!! Alex finished 5th grade on Thursday & we had his "5th grade celebration" last Tuesday. Off to middle school next year for him too! :sad2:

Thanks!! It was a great ceremony! Nick was one of four students to win Outstanding Student of the Year. We are so proud!:)

Good point on the Casey Jr. section!:thumbsup2 It would make it so much easier not to have to bring a change of clothes.

Hi Amy!!

17 days now!! We're so excited!!:cool1:

Nick's move up day was great!! It was so cute...since it was their last time walking the halls in their elementary school, just before they entered the gym for the ceremony they walked them one last time and as they passed each classroom the other students stood up and clapped for them. I thought it was such a sweet touch.:) I'm planning to post some pictures soon.:thumbsup2

Before I look back on past trips, I thought I would share what we have been up to lately. Last Wednesday was the boys last day of school and it was also Nick’s sixth grade graduation or moving up day. It was a great day!! They handed out awards at the beginning of the ceremony and Nick received 6 of them including the President Education Award, The Triple “C” Award (for students who have commitment, character and courage), He also received 2 awards in Music and Band, High Honor Roll and he also won Outstanding Student of the Year. (He was one of four students to receive this award) We are so proud of him that I just had to share!

Noah received a couple awards in his class as well on the last day of school. He received a Reading Leader Award and an award for reading the most words. So proud of him!! He’s a great little reader!!
014-1-1-1.jpg

Now that I am finished with my proud mom moment, I can share our latest movie night. As you know it was Noah’s choice and he chose the movie Hercules to watch. So, we dusted off our old VHS copy that we had forever and began to plan our night.
Hercules.jpg

The menu for this night was:
Hades Hot Dogs
Hades Hot Fries
021-1.jpg

Hercules Punch
Zeus’s Lightning Bolt Cookies
042.jpg

We also got some grapes to snack on—
020-2.jpg

Our Activities included an obstacle course. The boys made homemade medals and then we played a game of Disney Sorry.

041-1.jpg

Then we settled down to watch the movie. It’s been so long since we have seen it; I had forgotten how much we loved this movie….especially the music! I think Noah made a very good choice!!
Next week we are hoping to fit in our last movie. Nick really wants to watch Race to Witch Mountain. I’m not sure if we are doing any activities or a special meal. Maybe….

13 more days!!!!:dance3:

A quick walk down memory lane.

April 2009

So, we knew when we returned from our first trip that we needed to find a way to go back despite the many questions from our friends and family. But, mostly we heard… “Again?” Trust me we heard this many times over the year when we would tell someone that we were heading back to our favorite place but it certainly didn’t stop us. We chose April again because the weather was beautiful and the Flower and Garden Festival always made it even more special. Plus it gave us something to look forward to during the long cold winter. Anyways, it was an amazing second trip. We concentrated on seeing all the things that we had missed on the first trip including Wishes which was just as magical as I had imagined.
Here are a few pictures of our second magical trip to the world. If you want to read more about it, you can check out the link to my trip report in our introduction post.
Some major highlights from this trip included meeting some new characters—

But, also revisiting a few favorites as well—

Discovered EMH mornings—

Flew through the air—

Made some magical memories—

And went to bed each night with a view of the fireworks in the distance—

It was a great trip and I really didn’t think anything could top it. Until……

August 2009

Just before we had left for our second trip to Disney, my father had expressed some interest in joining us the following year which I was very excited about. My parents didn’t travel very much so this was a really big thing for them. It would also be their first time flying. Apparently we had talked about Disney so much that they wanted to experience it themselves and I’m so glad they did! But, to my surprise when we returned from our second trip my father started talking about going in August instead of waiting until the following year. Twice in one year! Of course, there was a little apprehension at first because I wasn’t sure how we would afford two trips but, luckily since we were only going for 4 days and free dining was being offered it became very doable.
It was August, so yes…it was so hot and it did rain…a lot. But, none of that mattered because we had an amazing time anyway. It actually felt like we were seeing everything again for the first time because we were seeing it through their eyes.
Here are a few highlights from our August 2009 trip—
All of us together outside the Seas with Nemo and Friends

We spent some time with a few favorite characters--

We also rode many, many rides new and old. But, most importantly we spent time with family in our most favorite place. It was definitely a trip to remember.

April 2010

It’s funny how things are just meant to be. If we hadn’t taken that second trip in 2009, we probably wouldn’t have been able to take our trip in 2010. Confused? Well…our flights went down so much on our August trip that between all of us, it left us with almost a $600 dollar credit. Of course, we couldn’t let it go to waste so we immediately booked a trip in April again during the boy’s spring break for 5 days 4 nights. We were lucky enough to get the Kids Stay Play and Dine discount (I think that’s what it was called) Anyway, it made the trip very affordable. So much so that we added on the waterpark and more option to our package and I’m so glad that we did. Since we were only there for 5 days we only did Typhoon Lagoon and then made a trip to Disney Quest one evening. We finally saw Fantasmic and Illuminations on this trip and rode Space Mountain and Pirates of the Carribean for the first time.

Here are a few highlights from our 2010 trip—
We started the trip with a magical night at the Magic Kingdom

So, there you have it a quick walk down memory lane. I didn't go into too much detail because I have written trip reports for all of these trips. But, I love looking back at past trips! It makes me so excited for our next trip which by the way is only in a couple weeks. I am able to do online check-in on Saturday. Can’t wait!!:yay:

Congrats on the boys receiving so many awards! Give them a big high five from me.:thumbsup2

I love looking back at your pictures from previous trips. I remember just how much you enjoyed the trip with your parents.

Congrats to both of the boys, job well done mom!

The trips down memory lane are so fun. And I'm glad to hear you can have fun with an older couple along -- we are getting ready to have grandma, grandpa, uncle, aunt, 2 cousins, and our family of four there for a week.

Awww, congrats to both of your boys! :goodvibes

Looking at your recap of your past trips is making me excited! It's almost time to go :cool1:

Hercules is one of my favorites. In fact, I just watched it the other day. I've been having a few mini-marathons of Disney movies during the days this summer. I'm not usually one to sit and watch movie after movie, but I wanted to watch some of the movies that I haven't seen in a long time (or at all). I especially wanted to watch some of the ones that correlate with rides. (Finding a copy of Song of the South was my mission :rotfl:) Right now, my husband is insisting that we watch ALL of the Harry Potter movies since we're going to WWoHP. I think we're on the fourth movie, so we SHOULD make it through all of them. It's just hard since most of them are twice as long as the average Disney movie.

Wow, 13 days left! I keep forgetting it's almost July. The year is going so quickly.

Loved the past trip recaps!

I know...I love looking back at previous trips. So many great memories. My parent's still talk about what a great time they had. Hopefully, one day I can talk them into going back with us again.:thumbsup2

We had such a great time when my parent's and brother decided to join us a few years ago. Of course, we had to take things a little slower but it was worth it!

Your trip is so close!!!:woohoo:

Fun idea about watching all of the Harry Potter movies! We have been pulling out the Disney movies here within the last few days too. So far we have watched Bedtime Stories and Toy Story 3. We're hoping to fit in Lilo and Stitch and Peter Pan before we leave plus a few others that we haven't decided on yet.:confused3 Great idea to watch ones that correlate with the rides!:thumbsup2

Almost online check-in time!!!:yay:

I thought it would be fun to take a countdown picture every day so that I can put it in our Disney scrapbook along with our Disney movie nights pics. I actually borrowed the idea from BrerMama's PTR. I LOVED it and asked if I could steal the idea and she said yes!!:thumbsup2 I'm not sure I'll get around to posting all the pics but here is the first one at least. I told the boys to each hold up 10 fingers and this is what they came up with.:rolleyes1 "Mom, if we both hold up 10 then it will look like there is 20 days left."

I started trying to organize the suitcases this morning. I've got a good share already packed. But, I have to admit it's much harder to pack for a summer trip because we are wearing some of the clothes that we will be taking-ex. shorts, etc. I'm hoping to keep working on it this week and then we'll just finish up next weekend.

Online Check-in tomorrow!!!:yay: I didn't put any requests in this trip. We want to be surprised. At this point, we've pretty much stayed in every section and liked them all so it really doesn't matter.

10 more days!!!!:cheer2:

So exciting that your trip is so close:cool1:

Congrats to the boys on their school awards!

Your must-do attractions list looks great, always fun to have some new things in the mix:thumbsup2

Love the countdown picture idea, have a great week!

Only 7 days now!! It doesn't seem possible!! We are so ready to go!!!:thumbsup2

I was hoping to be able to post more of the countdown pictures. I've been doing well taking the pictures but haven't gotten around to editing them. We are having a barbecue/pool party here on the 4th of July so I've been busy preparing for that.

Hope you have a great week too!!:)
