The weather is perfect for a late night outing. It's White Night tonight in Melbourne. Arty Farty cultural events and performances from 7 pm to 7 am in the morning. The city is expecting 800,000 people to visit. DH and I have gone the last 2 years (this is the 3rd year). We're thinking of going to bed early and heading into town for around 3 am. We'll see if we wake up or sleep through the alarm.

It started in France. I have no idea why they called it Nuit Blanche!

It was part of a projection sequence.

There were all sorts of things being projected on the building. I think they went with a circus theme last year. Some of the other projections on the buildings in that city block:

.....and what is it commemorating?

It's commemorating The Arts. All the Galleries in town will be opened all night. We'll have buskers scattered through town, and the arts centres will all have live artists playing as well. I think we might go to that last building I posted. They are supposed to have all night Jazz artists playing.
