We are taking our first ever trip the week of Thanksgiving. I have ADRS made for everyday, but I am cancelling our adults only meal and Neverland club for the kids. I need another ADR and my son (8) is a huge eater with a sophisticated palate. I think a buffet or other all you can eat would be the best since he can have as much as he wants and it will be the same food as the adults. (My daughter will only eat three things,LOL so hopefully there will be something for her!) We are on the ddp and we do not want to eat anywhere that is not on the plan. These are our ressies and we do not want to duplicate restaurants if possible. We are staying at POFQ and we will have our car so transportation is not an issue.

SAT 11/17 LE CELLIER DINNER
SUN 11/18 CRT LUNCH (girls only, boys will be watching football at ESPN club)
TUE 11/20 CRYSTAL PALACE DINNER
WED 11/21 BOMA BREAKFAST
THU 11/22 50’S PRIME TIME DINNER,
FRI 11/23 CHEF MICKEY BREAKFAST

Thanks so much, sorry post is so long.

What about Ohana's for dinner. It's family style so they will keep bringing you food. You can also see wishes if you go at the right time.

I know you said you don't want to duplicate restaurants, but Boma is a good choice for your son's sophisticated palate, and also has chicken tenders and spaghetti and meatballs, which will hopefully work for your daughter.

Ok, maybe not the choice for a "sophisticated palate," but how about WCC? We had great fun and the "All You Care To Eat" Skillet was actually quite good-and is offered on the children's menu (for an additional $2) as well as the adult menu. Just a suggestion! ;)

Hollywood and Vine at MGM has a good buffet and there is something for everyone there....including kiddos......

I love dinner at 'Ohana and LTT:banana: Not very sophisticated but yummy and fun!

Terri

Cape May Cafe for dinner and Hollywood & Vine are good choices!:thumbsup2

'Ohana for breakfast or dinner (breakfast is with Lilo & Stitch:thumbsup2 )

or

1900 Park Fare for dinner

or WCC for dinner

**All of the above are "all you can eat, although for WCC you need to order the yummy skillet)

You've already got the six favorites of the DIS - er, the top three buffet choices. If you're on the ddp, why not try a non buffet. Even though your son will have to pick off the kid's menu, the adults will get a full compliment of food, so that is alot of food and nobody will go hungry if you share at all. (and even if you don't)

I like the places you already list, but I think I would not want to eat more than three buffets in a single week at WDW. Usually, after we do a buffet, we are still not really hungry the next morning (or next meal as the case may be).

In which case, I'd pick my restaurant based on where I plan to be that day, and what is still available at a time I wanted. Last year, I was amazed at how booked up WDW was by this time. I barely got ADR's for Thanksgiving day!

I wouldn't go to Boma twice, especially if I wasn't staying there. It's too much lost time getting there and back and there are SO MANY other great places to eat. I probably choose something in or near a park.

Stick with your plan to go to a buffet, especially given your son'e eating preferences. Boma at breakfast and dinner are totally different, so it is not like going to the same place twice. PP made a comment about travel time, well with a car that is a non issue. Like many other posters I say Boma. Also your kids will probably like the savannah viewing area and there is more activity there during the dinner hours.

Boma 9/2 and Hollywood & Vine 9/3 are our two dinner buffets planned. We'll enjoy character breakfasts at Chef Mickey's 9/1 and Hollywood & Vine 9/2.

Another Boma vote from me. We also really enjoyed Cinderella's Gala Feast at 1900 Park Fare - not sure when they will reopen though.

We really liked the food at Cinderalla Gala at GF. It had a great variety and still had the chicken and french fries/ pizza etc.. We thought it was very similar to Crystal Palace at dinner.

Ohana is a family style all you can eat place. Biergarten is a buffet with German food, but has kids standards too. Boma has African flavors, but with kids as well. WCC has the skillet, while all dont have to eat from this, but nothing adventurous other than the CMs. We like all of these.

In your situation, given your son has a flair for the exotic, I would go Biergarten or Boma. This will give your DD some standards as well.

Ohana is my vote.
Lots of great food...repeat LOTS
Great dessert
And your kids can interact with the entertainment...i.e. Coconut races

Thanks for the suggestions. I asked my son where he wants to go, and he said somewhere with lots of meat! I am leaning towards Ohana (lots of meat, lots of fun, grilled cheese for sis) or Biergarten (meat, fun, sausage and bread for sis). I think my husband would enjoy Biergarten more because he was stationed in Bamberg in the 80's. We go to Oktoberfest every year and we all enjoy the singing and dancing. Right now, Ohana's biggest selling point is the fact that they bring it to the table. I never let my kids go to a buffet by themselves because kids in general are gross. I can't control anyone else's kids, but my kids don't grab food without tongs, lick their hands, etc.

Well, now that I've turned everyone against buffets (me too, LOL)

Thanks,

Shanan

Another vote for Boma for dinner. Boma for breakfast (to me) was pretty standar. However reviewing the dinner menu it's vastly different and much more sophisticated.

Here's a vote for Biergarten...the entertainment is fun for the adults as well as the kids.

...and when you're finished at Biergarten...check out Japan's Myuki (see the single page paper flyer with the show times etc. listed that you get when you enter Epcot) and go to her cart 15-20 minutes early. She'll make a free candy animal for your children. She has to choose the child(ren) but she always picks the kids that are there when she arrives as far as I can tell. Even if you aren't there early enough to be chosen, it is fascinating to watch her create these animals! Your kids will love it!
