All-women mariachi band?

My grandmother passed away suddenly 2 weeks ago. Our "late summer awesome trip" to Disneyland is bittersweet - we're just back from memorial services. Nana loved Mariachi and we found a wonderful group in Tucson to sing for her memorial mass - not a dry eye when they were singing. My DBF has a newfound love for Mariachi and for me, it reminds me of my nana and my youth!

My DBF and I LOVED seeing the all-female mariachi band (Mariachi Divas) in the Pacific Wharf area on our Jan 10 trip. I had never seen them before, and was pleasantly surprised! We're hoping to catch them again on this trip, but was wondering if there was a place where we could see their schedule? Otherwise, I figured this group would be best for asking about best times to catch this wonderful group!

They generally perform in the Pacific Wharf Area at Disney California Adventure Park every Friday, Saturday and Sunday with shows at 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 and 14:00. In addition, they perform at the Tortilla Jo's Restaurant in the Downtown Disney District every Saturday evening from 18:00 to 21:30.

On the official Disneyland website, when the hours and entertainment schedule appears, you can click a small box on the left that says "Park Atmosphere Entertainment" and it will show when the "Mariachi Divas" play.

I've not seen that particular group perform, but IIRC, performance times for the various bands/musicians in the DLR should be listed on the entertainment handout you get with the Park map upon entering. (I know, not much help...)

If you really enjoy Mariachis, you should visit Olvera Street in L.A. on your next trip...there are 2 lovely restaurants there where the Mariachis go table to table, singing songs. Sometimes on weekends, there are performances in a big gazebo at the park next to Olvera Street that are free to watch. I saw the last week just roaming. They played "Happy Birthday" to someone. Strangely enough, after they did it the first time, it was suddenly other people's birthday! Imagine that! The trumpet player was bad *** loud too. She had some major projection working for her!

Next time you get a chance to watch these talented women perform, be sure to ask them to sing "At Last." They do an AMAZING rendition of it!!!

I saw them on Channel 5 this morning, too and was quite impressed. I wasn't expecting them to be that good. I would love to see/hear them again in at DL.

To the OP: Click on "Performances" and you'll see where they'll perform throughout LA. Looks like they also perform at Tortilla Jo's in DTD.
