All VMK Board members please check your signatures..

Start passing out infractions or bans or whatever already! There are WAY too may oversize pics, and/or way too many lines that deter those of us that would normally enjoy the truly creative sigs in our browsing of the threads.

Several of these offenders actually take an entire "monitor window's worth" of space.. JUST for their sig! A few take even more!

Actually, while newer members may not be as aware of the regulations for signatures, I am appalled at how many "older" members here, say with at least several months membership, some even over a year, are blatantly ignoring the rules.

"Just cause you can.. doesn't mean you should!" Courtesy peeps, courtesy.. is it truly such a reach to think of others? We come to read the news, and yes even your sigs. But not more than one screen's worth of a sig! That in itself, in this duck's mind, is just pure BS!

The rules exist to not restrict or punish, but to allow for all to see the posts within these threads, while allowing people to show/tell a bit about themselves.

DIS administration.. please get on top of this? Obviously those members abusing the rules on sigs, do not give a da..! It is sad we already have to see too much whining and BS in the "true" posts themselves.. but the sig area is under YOUR control! You need to follow through on your own rules!

Sure.. I know I can choose to remove sigs from my reading.. but the vast majority are within specs and are interesting. I, we, the ones that are observing the rules, should not have to deny ourselves what the forums offer, soley for those few that abuse the rules.

Since the rule-breaking members have ignored polite requests to clean it up.. it is time for your action!

100% agreed.

There is one guy on here who decides to make his font the biggest he can and use all of his twelve lines, I sent him a PM and it sounded like he just did it to annoy people. It's still like that, and so sadly it is within the rules. I have to actually scroll through his signature... >_<!!

your right a lot of members use this little loop hole in the rules but do not be surprised if it is removed in the near future because of this abuse.

Well, I know that when I've had my height 2 pixels over the allowed height,
and I posted to another DIS forum, the Mod there gave me a warning.

I think it's well within the Moderators' rights to give PM warnings to change it
or get points.

Hi,

Thanks for the reminder. I tweaked mine and hope it is within guidelines :)

Were you going for an Academy?

Keep in mind that you can turn off signatures, so that you won't have to see them any more. I've had signatures turned off since a few days after I came here.

Click 'User CP', then 'Edit Options', then about halfway down the page you can uncheck 'Show Signatures'. Then click 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the page.

Voila, no more signatures! All you'll see any more are the posts. It's wonderful!

Haha! Thanks! Can you tell this is a pet peeve? (Hmm.. think I have a shot at one? :rotfl2: )

:lmao: Okay my cute friend.. what part of my paragraph that starts with "Sure.. I know I can choose to remove sigs from my reading.." did you not see? :lmao:

Seriously thanks for telling others the literal how to, of removing them from view.. but we should not HAVE to do that. ;)

I wasn't talking to YOU specifically! I was just putting that info out there.

I think I'll put the instructions for how to turn off signatures into my signature. :)

Well, in my opinion, if a signature is longer than four lines of text, it's too long. And here, there are signatures more than a whole screen long, attached to a one-line comment! It's just ridiculous... I don't come here to see Disney clip art!

I'm an accidental offender myself but rarely change my signature. Just added a silly picture in celebration of Tiki Month. I just plain forgot to check guidelines. I'm glad that Mal made a reminder thread... I'd hate to have been reprimanded and glad I wasn't. I wasn't ignoring the rules, it just slipped my mind to check the properties of the photo I added.
Thanks again Mal for the reminder. And I'm not trying to be a kiss-up either.;)

We all use different resolutions on our monitors and have different size screens at that. Mine is a 21" widescreen and I use the highest res, so it is not too often that somebody's signature looks big and take up much of the screen.

My signature is within guidelines, but I have been told it looks larger than life quite a few times. And trust me, if it were, it would not be in my signature. ;) :rotfl:

I must say, I really enjoy your siggy pic, makes me smile every time I see it!!!

Is mine within guidelines?
Actually, no it is not. You have 4 graphics and only 3 are allowed. I would suggest you combine the 3 pictures placed together into a single picture. The other option is to convert the "It's just a joke" from a picture to just text.
