I've been searching for good ideas for things to do when we come over for the Halloween weekend. Well, we planned to do MNSSHP on the 29th and then Sat we are going to spend the day at MGM then over to the campground for a campfire singalong and movie. I was going to surprise my 9yr old daughter with the Haunted Hayride. She loves anything scary. So I called Ft. Wilderness today just to find out that it has been cancelled even for Halloween night. I couldn't believe they would cancel it. Could she have been mistaken or maybe they will decide to do it at the last minute? What to do now? I just feel so bad now. That was going to be the BIG surprise.

All this planning for what? What do you do when your plans fall apart before you even get started?

Thanks for listening (reading)

I know how you feel. Hurricane Jeanne ruined our plans forcing us to leave a day late & miss our ps for CRT (and you KNOW how hard it is to get a ps!!). We had to roll with the punches & change our agenda but the trip turned out to be just fine. It was the 1st trip with kids so they really did not know what they missed b/c everything else was new to them.
Are they still doing the regular hayride? If not, the campfire & movie will certainly be fun in and of itself! MNSSHP will be fun too. I'm sure she'll have so much fun she would not even mind missing the hayride.
Just go & enjoy!

You're right!

I just hate it when you find something that seems perfect and you can't get it. She would have loved it and Yeah she'll like MNSSHP but she's been there several times over the years. Went twice one year. So I thought it would be something new and scary. She is nuts over scary things, books, movies, anything. The Haunted Hayride would have been perfect. Oh well always next year.

I'm not sure about the regular hayride didn't think to ask.

I'm sorry Jeanne ruined your plans. She had a thing for doing that to us Floridians. :)

Kids first trip! That must have been wonderful. Especially if you know all the ins and outs and you can sit back and watch those little faces. ALMOST makes me want grandchildren, Not really!

OK enough of that. I'm glad your trip went well inspite of the changes.
