All this craziness over BOG has me wondering....

Not only how many people not on these boards will wake up with possibly no reservation for lack of a CC#....but if there will be a big issue on all of these days with guests showing up at their time to only find out that it doesn't exist...

Even though I added a CC# to the first auto reservation and got a new confirmation number by guest services (amazed I got through to an actual human!), the automated system spelled my name wrong and GS couldn't change it. I feel like I can't be 100% excited even with the GS assurance that I am all set....

I feel bad for all of those who couldn't get their times in as well as the CMs working this morning.....hopefully they figure this all out over the next few days and there isn't a big mess once BOG opens up!
 
The CM i spoke to said it is going to be awful when people show up for thier reservations that they think they have but dont. He said he was so happy i called back and attached my credit card to my reservation. I am anxious to see if mine is still attached to my trip tomorrow.
 
I find it absolutely ridiculous in this day and age that Disney still continues to mess up dining reservations like this. They probably would have been better off opening it up online only rather than phone in. At least if the system crashed then no one would have been able to get anything. After the fiasco with the F & W bookings last week I wasn't even going to attempt to try calling in this morning. If I can get something for my December trip online in a few days great. If not, there's always next time. I'll just check out the lunch QS option instead.
 
I wonder about the "craziness" that going to occur with people trying to get into BOG for lunch! Can you imagine the lines! I think Disney will eventually have to offer ressies for lunch in addition to dinner.
 

I wonder how long it will take them to decide to make it a Signature restaurant?

well hopefully now that there has been more recent confirmation from a few websites saying that Disney will not cancel, this will no longer be a factor! Now we just need to hope that they train their staff exceptionally well with how busy this restaurant is going to be!

I heard on another thread that some people were taking up days their whole trip so maybe even checking each day for the next because my guess is there will be a big amount of cancellations if people were indeed doing this!

I was hoping to try lunch too! We'll just have to play that by ear....

Hoping that when the reviews start coming in, we will get more info on specific times they will open for lunch.

I wonder if they will change lunch to a one credit too although I love that they tried to create a more upscale experience for a CS...hopefully they stick with that!

I would imagine they'd stop letting people in at a certain point? It would become a fire hazard if they didn't. Im just glad im not going when they first open up. Id imagine it be a mad house!

I would imagine that the line will be controlled, and when the tables are filled (no going to table until you have ordered) they will cut it off, and only allow more people as tables are released. That's my take anyway, as they bring the food to your assigned table as it is ready.

No one would be allowed inside to "just look", just those that have ordered.

But, you are right, the line will probably be VERY long!! :eek:
 
I remember when CRT used to be like this, when they only did characters at breakfast. I have yet to eat there. I thought seriously about doing it this trip, it will be my DD12 and me, but she said she's not interested in princesses. She wanted BOG and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast, wants to meet Mary Poppins, I have both, so we're set. Anything extra will just be icing on the cake for us.

It is not going to be any different than any other restaurant. You can still only seat so many people at a time and all others have to wait until a table opens up. Most Disney restaurants are fully booked each night other than slower seasons. The bigger issue is going to be the CMs understanding the menu and everybody working well together to get their flow down.

Restaurant is supposedly going to hold 550 people & the world is not known for feeding large masses with great food.

I'm passing on this for a while maybe late next year we'll try it.

Has anyone seen a menu with prices? I checked all ears and the menu didn't have prices.

I have not seen prices, but the disney website is saying its only going to be $$ (15.99-35.99 range...for lunch and dinner) Which shouldn't be too bad! There are 14 people in my party...so...I hope it's not a $700+ meal like CRT was!

I saw the menu had cupcakes...im looking forward to that.

Imagine me walking into BoG for lunch and ordering one cupcake. Hmm. I think im just crazy enough to do it.

Had they known it was going to be this crazy today, I think they would have already! They were highly unprepared for the overwhelming mess it turned into. Because of the craziness and confusion, they will most likely wait until everything calms down, but I can bet it won't be long.
 
We are going to cross our fingers for an early lunch unfortunately we arrive 2 days after it opens. Does anyone know if they will have a wheelchair area and how will I handle it w/mum as I usually park her and dd at a table then fetch lunch??? Thanks for any advice

That's what I meant too. I worked in restaurants as a hostess, waitress and in the bar throughout college. My husband just got out of the restaurant business (he started as a dishwasher and got up to a manager). We are both very understanding when it comes to restaurants and don't hold back tip for silly reasons.

That being said...there is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of hostesses confused because they have no clue who was just sat, where to seat and worse is when the double or triple seat a server! Disney has always been great from our standpoint when it comes to seating and servers. It would seem that they would go through quite a few service practices in order to gear up for this opening.
 
I got through this morning to the automated service and made my ressie. It didn't ask me for a cc #. I was however able to pull it up online and link it to my resort ressie so it shows up with all my others. I called a little while ago and asked to add my CC # and she told me that due to the volume of calls today they couldn't add it but that anyone who called for today only and didn't use a CC will still be able to keep the ressie. I asked if I should call back in a day or so to add it when the hype wears off. She said there was no need. Not sure I like that answer so will probably call again tomorrow to try.
