serve as a good reminder that rides at theme parks & amusement parks are nothing more than machinery with moving parts & sometimes high voltage.

While I sympathize with those injured, it reminds us that accidents can happen & we should always exercise caution around ALL TYPES of machinery & follow safety rules. Even if those rules seem like common sense.

Public service annoucement over. We now return to our regularly scheduled program. :)

Now I think I'll go run with scissors while I make toast in the shower. :teeth:

If any guest was to come into contact with high voltage they certainly would have a case against the owner.

Anything else though should be the same as anywhere else. You don't lose the reponsibility of personal safety just because you are in a amusement park. Is you do something stupid, or something you were told not to do, it's all on you.

Seems too often people want act unsafe, or let their kids do the same, and blame others when things happen. And then to top it all off, they look for handouts from those they think should feel guilty.

Act up on Splash Mountain and get hurt... don't blame anybody but yourself. If something falls off the ceiling and crashes into your log... their fault.

Watch your step and keep your hands, arms, and legs inside the vehicles at all times.

Do not stand while the vehicle is in motion.

Heed posted and audible warnings. They are not suggestions. You should not have to be reminded to have common sense.

I slipped and fell at EPCOT near the play fountains. While completely embarassed and in some pain--it was MY fault as I allowed my baby to play in the water and she decided to travel around and I had to catch up to here. Lesson learned: WALK, don't run!!!!

OK, I'll give ya that the high voltage would be the owners responsibility. But my original point still stands, that in life accidents will happen, but with common sense & caution you can reduce how many times it will happen.

Excellent advice!

READ READ READ!!!

The warning signs are there for a reason. Mission Space is a perfect example !!

This is just my opinion, but something I always think about when I read about things that might be related.

I know it's all aobut theming but I think it's potentially very dangerous to have so much of the ride information, especially any safety info, disguised as part of the show. Star Tours is a perfect example as they have all the aliens playing it like it's just anothe part of the show rather than a warniing and safety announcement.

On some Disney rides they all but try and keep you from actually seeing what the ride is all about totally keeping people from making a judgement of if it's right for them or not. This is one topic where I think the traditional in the open ride has it's advantages. You can see what's going on and can make that call easily.

I know thw warning signs are there, but have you noticed they all pretty much say the same things? Not much really changes between the signs for rides that can really hurt somebody with back injuries and something that barely shakes you around. Makes people not take them seriously. It gets even worse when the pre-show actor starts giving important info as part of the show.

i didnt realize there were so many incidents recently
i knew about the mission space stuff
hope people are ok and following the rules

I get irritated at all the people trying to put the screws to Disney and get freebie stuff for their accidents.
