Tuesday 26th October
As planned we were up for an early breakfast and feasted on rolls and croissants. We had taken our coats down to breakfast so were ready to make a run for the EMH. Luckily we met our friends just as we came over the bridge near the HNY, which was excellent timing and much better than having to try to meet up in the park. It was cold but bright that morning, and biggest DD had her Halloween costume on, which was a kind of Minnie Pumpkin Witch type dress, all orange and black, black and orange Minnie ears, black and orange clip in bunches and black and orange stripy tights, but so cold she kept her coat on for most of the time.
Little one was in her purple and green witch dress but a bit tired and poorly today so our first stop was to rent a pushchair and buy yet another blanket!!!! We now have 3 at home!
Before the hordes appeared we managed to do Dumbo
(where we saw hildasmuriel and her DD happily riding the flying elephants) , Peter Pan where smallest DD kept her eyes open for at least a third of the ride.
Next up was Buzz which we did have to queue for but not as long as during main park hours.
We then all headed over to Adventure Land for Pirates and my friend ran to Frontierland to pick up fast passes for BTM. I was thinking that smallest DD would ride Pirates but no such luck, so big DD and grandma and our friends went on while me and small hung around Skull rock and were disappointed that the playground wasn't open.Instead smallest decided to take photos of me and her feet.....don't ask.
After they came off Pirates, which grandma loved, smallest DD and grandma headed back to Fantasyland for another Small World fix and on to her new fave, Casey Jnr. Whist small was occupied, us big girls went and did our fast passes for BTM, and I was holding my breath as to whether biggest would like a roller coaster, having never been on one, the nearest thing being Casey!!
she screamed, she whooped, she shook, and she asked if we could do it all again!! it's now her fave too!
We took photos around Halloweenland with the Pumpkins then found some characters to stalk , we got Jafar, Dr Facilier and a pumpkin man who took a fancy to DD's and friend's orange stripy tights, so they got a bit of attention and a cuddle.
We then made our way back to meet up with Grandma and small, and caught some of the Halloween show, before going on to find two very hungry people.
We had wanted to eat at the Agrabah Cafe, but didn't want a full on feast at lunchtime as we had planned to do the buffet at Sequoia Lodge that evening, so instead we went for Pizza at the Bella Notte, which was really delicious but very busy. The really lovely CM serving me went off to find me a second Tiana character straw (thingamy whatsit) even though there were queues, she was so friendly, as were all the CMs we encountered tbh.
Next went for a wander into Discoveryland as Grandma needed to pick up some Buzz toys for other grandchildren.
Grandma then fancied a trip on the Disneyland Railway ...**eyes roll heavenward** and seeing as we had never done that before and this WAS a trip of firsts afterall....we did it. Sadly, that is an hour or so of our lives we will never get back. Yes it was sunny in the (really looooong queue) yes is WAS a sit down, yes it WAS the most boring thing we have ever done at Disney, ever...ever...ever.... This is what we did to liven it up, created our own guided tour voice-over for the journey which consisted of ...
...'ooooh look there's a tree'.......'wow, did you see that, a tree!' ...hand on a minute, just over there...YES!! A TREE !!!!'
Our next distraction was shouting (politely) to all the people queueing at the various stations that it really wasn't worth the over an hour long queue to see what is basically a tour of all the 'off stage' bits of DLP. Luckilty, we all found this utterly hilarious, got back off at Discoveryland (had to as pushchair was there!!!) then discovered an urgent need for a cup of tea, cake and an ice-cream, the Gibson Girl was our next stop! We had to do some more shopping next as Main Street was calling!
We decided to end the day at the Studios and biggest DD was lucky enough to find a really short queue for Minnie who loved her outfit:
And had just enough time to look around TSPL
then catch the final Animagique which was as wonderful as ever. By then the girls were shattered, and really wanted to bet back to the hotel room to play with their new toys that naughty grandma got for them - dress up little princesses which they love.
After a play (the girls!!) and a freshen up, we went down to the buffet dinner and enjoyed a very nice bottle of Beaujolais ( the big girls!), lovely prawns, smoked salmon and pate for starter, baked potato sour cream and lamb in a delicious gravy finished off by multiple visits to the dessert buffet, the lemon meringue pie and the chocolate mousse being firm favourites! The girls could not believe they could have whatever desserts they wanted, faced with all that choice, Smallest just wanted jelly!!!! It was a great meal, expensive, but at least shareholders discount helped a bit. We settled the girls into bed, and then made a cup of tea and read our books until we felt ready for bed. It was another fantastic day.

4. Toy Story Playland
5. Eating at Hunters Grill
