I'd love to hear from anyone who has stayed at the All Stars Movies. My daughter and her boyfriend are staying there in a standard room and would like to be near the bus stop and away from the pool. They have asked for a king bed,but know that they might not get it,thats not as important as the bus stop. Also should they ask for a upper level room because of the noise and forget the king request?Does anyone know a good room number? They will not spend time in the pool,so thats not important, the bus stop is the most important then the food court. They have time to change their request, and I know sometimes you never get your request either.Would love to have some help.

To be closest to the bus stop, I'd either pick Dalmatian or Toy Story. We stayed in the Dalmatian building on the first floor on the back side. It wasn' noisy at all. I don't know abou the king size bed.

I love the All Stars to me it represents all that is Disney. we are going back there in January 2004 and October 2004. I am going on my own with my two sons in Oct because I feel so safe there.

The closest block to the bus stop as said above is Toy Story the fantasia and 101 Dalmations. However the Fantasia is Preferred in that you have to pay $10 more a night. Ive paid that only because Im lazy and wanted to be sure of a room close to everything but others who have posted say its not worth it so its up to you.

To be perfectly honest I will probably end up asking to stay in Toy Story if I can!!!

Re the king beds I thought that those rooms were for disabled to give them more room for the wheelchairs etc...If they are not reserved for disabled the may release ..probably need to check with Disney Reservations

Your daughter will love it!

If one stays near the bus stop, I can't see how they could be away from the pool, since the pool and rooms are just behind the entrance to the main building with the food court and guest services and the bus stop is at the front of the building.

You'll want to try for the Dalmatian building we stayed there our last trip and we loved it...It's close to the buses and the food court..:jester:

The Mighty Ducks far side is closer to the AS Music bus stops than even walking to the ASMO ones. We've stayed at the edge and DH even walked over to the ASMU for coffee in the am's !
No King size beds (or queens for that matter) as we've asked.

We love staying here--the transportation connections are very consistent and efficient.

Another plus to staying in the Mighty Ducks area is the quiet. There's not much activity as it is away from the pool area. But beware--the Disney vacuums and outdoor clean up crews start early and you can hear that noise no matter where you are.

Have Fun!! :)

To be near the entrance (bus stops are just outside the main building) you have to be near the main (Fantasia) pool. Not a good resort to stay at if you want to avoid noise from pools and be near the bus stops.

Even though Fantasia is closest to the pool and the main building, the Toy Story and Dalmatian buildings are not that far from the main building. It costs extra to stay in Fantasia, and I wuold never pay that to stay there because it's not much closer. We have never haad a problem with noise. The only times it was noisy was in the morning.

We were in buzz #10 room 930 top floor. We had an ausome room as far as bus stop. We were about 4 rooms from the back stairs and there was a paved path that took you right to the front of the main building where all the buses stopped. It was perfect and quiet bc not many people walked past our room at all.

We are arriving with our 3 yr old on Friday and are scheduled for the Fantasia building. We want to be close to the food court and the bus. Are we in the wrong building? Would we be better of shooting for the Dalmations building 1 or Toy Story building 10?

Thanks for the advice.

Lou, I just think it is silly to go for the preferred room while you are at All Star Movies unless you LOVE Fantasia. I don't. When you walk out the door to the hotel rooms, you either go left, right or straight ahead. Straight ahead is Fantasia. Directly left is Toy Story. Directly right is Dalmatians. In my opinion, I think that there is probably only FEET making Fantasia closer, and the only thing that makes it better is that it is right by the pool. However, in the Toy Story area there are awesome scenes that make great photo shots. Same with Dalmatians. We took our four year old, and the distance was not a problem for us to stay in Dalmatians. There was no distance. It was perfect. We stayed in Calypso in Music, which is the preferred section, and it seemed the same distance to Calypso as it did to Dalmatians. Hope this helps.

I also wanted to chime in to say that I have stayed in the Toy Story building and loved it (of course, being a Toy Story fan helps!). We were in a room on the first floor but it was quiet because it was on the outside of the building with very little traffic (not too far from the parking lot). But, it was just a short "hallway" away from the courtyard that we walked through to get to the busses and food court. It probably took us only about 2-3 minutes to get to the bus stop.

I personally would discourage people from getting a room that faces or is very close to the courtyard because of the pedestrian traffic. Some people just don't realize that they are walking right past your door and a lot of times kids will want to play on/over/under/around/with the larger-than-life characters (of course, I have to admit I wanted to, too!). :teeth:

HELLO ALL,

I AM STAYING AT THE ALL STAR MOVIES THE FIRST WEEK IN FEB.

I AM A VERY LIGHT SLEEPER SO LIKE MANY OF YOU, I NEED A QUIET ROOM. SHOULD I REQUEST THE TOP FLOOR AND IF SO, WHICH BUILDING. I PREFER TO BE NEAR THE BUS STOP BUT NO WHERE NEAR THE POOL AREA.

PLEASE HELP!!

THANKS

PS. WHERE CAN I FIND A MAP OF THIS RESORT? WHEN SHOULD I FAX OVER MY ROOM REQUEST?

We have never had a problem with noise at the All Star resorts. We have always stayed on the backside, though, away from the main walkway. Request a room on the backside. Also, many people suggest staying in Mighty Ducks. It is by the quiet pool. It is the furthest down, but you can go over to All Star Music and use their buses and food court. We stayed in Dalmatian section on the first floor on the backside with no problems with noise except in the early morning. We were up and at em anyway, and it didn't bother us.

Request a room NOT facing the courtyard. DD & I just got back from AS Movies about a week ago. Here are my thoughts:

1. I know many people love the AS resorts. They were cute and I was okay with it because I knew to expect small rooms and over sized decorations. I did feel it was really not my style but was okay for this stay.

2. We had a room on the 2nd floor facing the courtyard and I cannot say enough about the amount of noise we had. It was not overly busy while we were there and the noise was very bothersome. We like to go to bed around 10:30 or 11:00 most nights and get up early. Each night we heard people and kids up and down the walkway outside of the rooms (even on the night we stayed late and went to bed around midnight). I felt like each person walking by was actually in the room with me. Again it was fine because I had read some of this before I left and we were only there for 3 nights.

We did not use the buses but did see some long lines waiting for the buses. I do agree that AS Music can be closer to some of the rooms.

On a side note, we really liked the food court. It was just DD & I for a mother/daughter weekend away. We decided against planning a lot of meals at the park and ate our breakfasts and suppers for the most part at the food court. I was pleasantly surprised with the food.

Overall, I would not choose the AS hotels for a long stay. However, it is really a personal preference and there was really nothing awful about our stay.
