DH and I want to stay at the All Stars; we usually stay at the CBR but we spend all of our time in the parks. Although we love CBR, it is time to take a budget trip and we can save about $400.00 if we switch from our current reservation at CBR to All Stars Movies. Can anyone tell us if they have stayed there without children and if so, was it noisy - when you stay there, do you still feel like part of the Disney magic? How is the food court and any other amenities that it may offer? Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Well we usually stay at deluxes but this also a budget trip for us. We decided to give POP a try. Sorry I really can't answer your questions but we're in the same boat. We really don't spend that much time at the resort and couldn't beat the AP rate we got at POP. Counting the days now at 11.:teeth:

We just returned from All Star Sports and we loved it. That being said, we had three small children with us and the resort is geared towards the kids. The theming at all the All Star Resorts is larger than life, which gives it a very youthful feel.
With just two people, you should be fine. The Disney magic lives on at these resorts, but they do have a couple of drawbacks: There are a LOT of kids there, which is good if you have kids, not so good if you are looking for quiet, romantic walks; food choices are limited to fast food, which is great if you have kids who think pizza is the "wonder food", but not so good if you are looking for a nice sit down meal.
I would say go for it, but keep these things in mind: plan on eating at other resorts. Since you don't have little kids, you can probably stay at the parks longer, so take transportation to one of the other resorts for a nice meal (take the monorail from MK to GF for your romantic walks). Get up and out early. It gets boisterous, so don't plan on sleeping in.

I think you will have a great time.

It's been a few years now but before we had children my husband and I went to DW and stayed at All Star Sports. We had a great experience and like you, decided we were going to spend most of our time out at the parks and such so our hotel was basically just a place to change and sleep! We went from about 7 am to 1 am everyday. Would come back in the evenings to get a snack and clean up and then we would go out for the evening to dinner or the comedy club. I don't remember it being noisy and I while there is probably a major difference in the feeling between a value and a deluxe resort...to us just being at DW is magical..not where you sleep!:)

We were wondering the same thing about the Value resorts. My parents stayed there without kids and loved it. I have a friend who stayed there( with two kids ) and loved it. My husband and I would like to stay there due to the value but are worried about the noise etc. We will be going at the beginning of Novemember so we were thinking that this is a quiet time there and not as many kids so it should be fine. What do you think ?
Also we are thinking of staying at the All Star Movie resort. Any suggestions on where is a good room location?:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My dd, 10 and I love the AllStars. We stayed there, Music, for a last minute trip in Dec. I was expecting really noisy rooms etc. But, our room was one of the quietest we've had at WDW. We were in Jazz, on the back side, facing the courtyard. Very little traffic past our room. We are going back for our first stay at BWV this August and are going to stay at AllStarMusic again for the first 2 nights. My dh, who is definatly a deluxe person, is looking forward to seeing what we liked so much. All I can say is...my dd, who really, really wanted to stay at the Polynesian (and did) this past August, said she felt much more of the 'magic' at Music. Man, the money I could have saved!!!!

We've stayed there numerous times (all 3) and we do not have kids. Sometimes it's crazy with kids, somtimes not so much. I would ask for a room that's far from the food court (it's still not that far away) and not around any pool or 'play' areas (such as Football at Sports and Toy Story at Movies, kids gravitate towards them!). Movies also tends to get the most families with kids and the Sports and Music tend to get the most groups (like bands, cheer and sports teams, a lot of times they're unsupervised teens).
I would also avoid the food court if at all possible during peak times; it gets a bit crazy in there sometimes!
I also just wanted to add that you'll probably run into just as many kids at the Moderates as you would at the Values, and probably the Deluxes for that matter. And the Moderates have basically the same setup as the Values (outside entrances) and tend to be just as noisy as far as kids running outside of your door, toilets flushing, adjacent noise room, etc.
If you can save $400 on the room, you can probably spend that money on a nice quiet romantic dinner or other adult activities (not that there are that many at WDW!!)

We stayed at the All Star Music resort, and we loved it. We didn't notice that we that others had kids and we didn't. In fact, we met another couple there that was on their honeymoon. We even had supper with them one night. We stayed at ASMo last time, and I would have felt the same way there.

We have stayed at the all stars many, many times by ourselves (just hubby and I). Usually the sports, once the music.

We love it. The food court is better than at any of the moderates. The resort layout is also much more convenient than any of the moderates.

We can highly recommend using the all stars for a budget trip, or any trip!

My fiance and I have stayed at the All Star Movies. We loved it. We loved the atmosphere. It was very Disney. We stayed in a first floor room right across from the main pool so it was noisy. It didn't bother us but I would request another section if we went again. Love Bug maybe? We really enjoyed the food court. We hadn't really planned on eating there much but we did. The food was really good. The food court always seemed to look crowded but the lines were never really long. I would definitly stay there again.

We are 55+ and often stay at the Value resorts. In face we just got back from Pop Century, we were there for NYE. We always ask for a room away from the pools, and close to the parking lot. Our stay last week was very nice. We were in room 7157 in 80's A, very close to 90's A. It was a walk to the food court, I didn't mind the walk, but DH did, so we just drove over....It was fun staying in a brand new room. I think we were the first guests in that room because we kept making footprint marks on the new carpet. The air didn't work the first night, but I read about that on these boards, so I called maintenance to reset the sensor. Worked well after that.
We have also stayed at the All Stars during cheer and dance and football weeks. Just ask for a room away from the pools and just remember that there will be crowds at the food courts.

I don't know when you're going, but we originally had planned on staying at ASMovies, then I found a discount code for our time frame and bumped to PORiverside, for $5.00 more a night! The code I used is valid from 2-12 thru 4-17, value resorts are 79, moderate are 114 the code is CTN if that helps!

Thanks for all the help - we may stay there for half of the time and perhaps stay at a moderate for the other half.
I did try the CTN code for CBR and only got $138.26 (with tax) a night - as opposed to $88.48 for value, it definitely saves a lot of money. Thanks again! Any other advice is also appreciated.
