All Star VS Pop

I am curious. I have never stayed at the Pop, and my only experience has been with the All Stars. I have been to all three.

I am aware that they are essentially the same, but they are in different locations, which might make a difference in travel times, etc.

Any input?

well, here are things I would put pop ahead for

1. newer, nicer tv's too
2. its own bussing, not stopping at multiple resorts
3. since its in a cheaper county, after taxes its a little cheaper
4. its where I go, and I am sunshine and light up any place.

There's an inside bar/lounge vs. just an outside pool bar.

The bath/shower has indiv. soaps/shampoo instead of the single dispenser unit at AS.

Three pools instead of two.

The nightstands are lower at PC so you don't hit you head on them.

How is the food court? 2880 using 1 food court is a lot! At the All Stars there are only 1920 rooms (Movies and Sports) or 2000(Movies). And I think they get very crowded!

I liked pop just a tad better. In the food court there are those ICEE's - frozen coke and frozen raspberry that you can get unlimited refills on when you buy the mug.

The 2 times I've stayed at Pop I've never had a problem. When they built it they added more check out, food stations etc. that handle crowds a little easier than AS.

But, that's JMHO!!!

Woah, i didn't know that! I thought it was just basic beverages, woo hoo!

I second everything that has been said so far - Pop is also very centrally located on the WDW property. It is fairly close to everything. Drives or bus rides to and from the different parks are relatively short!

We just got back from All-Star Movies, which we really enjoyed. We stayed at POP October 2004, and loved it! We would go back to either, but this is what we liked better about POP:

More comfortable beds (probably newer!)
Slightly better food court (I may be all wet, but I remember POP having half-and-half rather than that nasty "creamer" stuff. Also, I couldn't find grits at All-Star Movies--how is that possible??)
A view of Epcot's Spaceship Earth & fireworks from certain rooms.
Friendlier service at the front desk (I think they loved my Gators for Kerry button!)

This is what we liked better about All-Star Movies:

A very popular (on Saturday night) pool bar connected to the food court-- more inviting than the pool bar at POP, more inviting than the indoor bar at POP.
Much better bus service than POP (perhaps coincidental).

Since you have already been to all three All Stars, you simply must try POP and judge for yourself!

seems lots of DIS'ers are going that week.. my wife wont wear the green things though(neither will I) we are too shy in person.. but we will look out for green thingys(and still probably not say anything)
