Just wanted to post a review of our stay last week at the All Star Sports. We were visiting to celebrate our anniversary and this was our first "on site"hotel and we got hooked on the 24 hour magic when we stayed here a few years ago so we decided to go back there. I mentioned these things in my letter and that we had been assigned to Home Run Hotel and that we would like a non smoking room there again if possible. I had no other requests so I was hopeful we would get what we asked. They definitely exceeded our expectations! They put is in a very quiet corner room right off of the parking lot in building 8. We never heard a peep even during our daily naps. It was a great room and I would request it specifically again. Every CM we came in contact with was so unbelievably nice. Last year it seemed like we came in contact with every crabby CM at POR so this was a huge improvement! Everyone was very helpful and asked how our trip was going, etc. Housekeeping was fabulous! We buy tons of stuffed animals for our collection on our trips and this trip was no exception and Housekeeping had them fixed so cute when we returned every day. One day we came back to find Sher Kahn in a little cat bed made of towels in the middle of the bed and the others sitting up on the bed watching Toon Disney! It was so cute and helped make this special trip even more special. It's so nice that Housekeeping goes to all of this extra trouble just to make your trip better. We were so thrilled with ASSP and can't imagine staying anywhere else anytime soon - why mess with a good thing :) ?

I'm so glad you had a good time! I really like that resort too. Last time I was there, I was taking my luggage out to my car, and a guy who looked like one of the cooks in the kitchen was walking by to his car and made sure to ask me if I had a good time and hoped it was good. I have met some of the nicest castmembers there. Yes, it's not the fanciest, or has the most amenities, but there's definitely a lot of magic here- it really feels like Disney.

freediverdude - I'm glad you had such a good experience as well. I told my DH I can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else. The amenities are things we don't use anyway. I thought the same thing - the All Stars seem the most "disney" of them all - they seem totally immersed in the magic!

We leave for eight nights at Sports in less than a week. We have been lucky enough to stay at the Yacht Club the past three years, and I've been so worried that we would HATE this resort -- there have been some negative comments on this board recently. We have the $59 AP rate for two rooms, total of $132. One room at the Yacht Club would have been $266 with the AP rate. We love the pool, the hot tubs and the location, but we could get four rooms at Sports for less than that!

The All stars are great and if you can save money to stay a extra day or two it is well worth it!!!

We have been to the AS Sports every year since 2000. That was our first year and we really enjoyed it. One year everytime we came back to the room after housekeeping had been we had some type of little thing made out of the facecloths, bunny, fish, rose etc.
This May we went and when we came back to the room, our toothbrushes were arranged in one of the glasses with a facecloth and the toothpaste, plus we had a bunny sitting on the tv.
Unfortunately we had to change rooms so we didn't have that maid the rest of the stay.

But we have always enjoyed our stays. We have been in Home Run, Center Court, Hoops and this past time Surf's Up. The only one we haven't been in is End Zone.

tar heel - don't worry at all you will have a great time. The All Star Sports is great and you can't beat the price to have the Disney Magic 24 hours a day!

fsu - I totally agree and that also factored in to our decision about where to stay. Especially being that we don't spend a lot of time at the resort and wouldn't use the extra amenities even if they had them.

I'm glad you had a magical stay. The All Stars get a bad rap a lot of the time but we love staying here. To us it's the difference in how much time we can afford to stay, 4 nights at a deluxe/7 at a moderate or amnt more at the All Stars. I prefer taking more time than having the amenities. It is the most "disney" feeling of all the resorts to me.

I'm glad you enjoyed it as well.

We've stayed at Sports four times. We were in Tennis, Football, Basketball, and Surfs Up buildings. It worked out wonderfully for my kids, and it was just great feeling being there.
