All Star Sports - those w/ recent stay

I'll be staying at All Start Sports in November. Anyone just back?

I know they've been re-furbing a few of the buildings here and there and I was wondering if anyone was in a re-furbed room. If so, what buildings? Was it nice?

Any other tips, comments, etc. would be great too. This will be my first ever on-property stay, and the first time taking DS (2 1/2). I'm SO excited!

My family and I just got back on Tuesday night from all stars sports and it was a nice stay. I have to say that I much prefer Pop century to the All Star Sports but that's me !!!!
most of the rooms have been refurbished and they are nice the main pool was almost done when we left.
overall it was a nice resort.
any other questions i can answer let me know !!!

We are staying at All Star Sports tonight, then moving to Coronado tomorrow for a convention. We have stayed in ASSp plenty of times, the refurbished rooms are very nice.
I just viewed my standard reservation online for tonight, and it says PREFERRED. I paid a one nights deposit for a standard room. We'll see.

We were at Sports recently and probably won't be returning. It wasn't terrible but we had lousy housekeeping and service in general. It was probably just one bad experience. We would definitely stay again if we had to but I think we've decided to try a moderate next time.

We are heading down towards the end of October. I hope the main pool is completed by then. How are the buses?

The buses were one of our biggest complaints. They were sloooow coming. Also, you'd see the same bus come over and over for one park while nothing came for the other parks. We noticed when we visited AKL that there was shade over their waiting area. Not at All-Star Sports. You get to stand out in the blistering sun.

Our room wasn't a refurbished room. I did ask for one but it wasn't on the first floor (my roomie wanted 1st floor) so I had to give it up for an "older" room. It was still nice, even with some of the wallpaper peeling a bit in the bathroom. Housekeeping was good. They came around late morning/lunchtime to clean the room. The only time I had a slow bus was usually just after one had left or when I went back one day midmorning and had to wait awhile at the MK for one... But usually they were fairly quick in coming.

I have to say, the rooms were very nice. We probably had a refurbished one and it had a king sized bed and was accessible. I had heard complaints about the size of the rooms but ours was a pretty standard hotel size. The decor was fine as well.
