Hi, This is my first time on the Dis board, looks like a fun way to pass time till our trip. We will be staying at All-star sports from 12/11-12/21 (Sooo excited) can any of you help me decide if I need to email the room coordinator about a preference. We got the AP rate on a preferred room, does that automatically mean that we will be near the main building? Which building is the best as far as location and noise level? We were at AKL in Juliy and specified which savannah and trail that we wanted, we got exactly what we wanted. AKL is one big hotel though, you have to go outside and walk to separate buildings at All-star sports. so maybe all of you can help. Thanks

Welcome to the DIS!

I love All Star Sports! Here is a map of the place: All Star Sports Map. If I recall correctly, the "preferred view" rooms are in Surf's Up Buildings 1 or 6. They are very close to Stadium Hall (the food court) and the pool. Your room will probably be noisy if you face the pool. We were in Building 6 on the 3rd floor last year and faced a courtyard. It was very quiet and close to everything. I also have stayed in Building 3 (Hoops Hotel). I didn't think the walk was all that bad, even though it was a "standard view" room away from the pool.

Thanks for the map and the friendly welcome. I just realized that I posted this on the theme parks diss. instead of the resorts one, sorry for the mistake, just excited to actually talk Disney-talk to someone who's interested. My husband isn't quite the planner that I am, and he doesn't really get into talking about it until we are there. I just can't wait that long.

Giving you a friendly bump over to Resorts! They're full of great info over there!

(BTW, Welcome to the DIS! So glad you joined us. :) )

We just got back from All Star Sports and we stayed in Surfs Up, building six. We had a great time. The building is right next to the pool. Our room did not face the pool and it was very quiet. All you have to do is cross the pool area and you're right at the food court and main area (ie check in, gift shop, etc).

Have fun!

Melissa

We use our ap for rooms at the sports all the time. You will definately be in building 1 or 6. This means you could have a pool view or a courtyard view.

Thanks, we are looking forward to it. My 9 year old son is so excited about the sports theming.

Just wanted to say hi and to let you know that DD (10) and I will be at ASSp same time as you (Dec 15-20)! We've been there before and looking forward to going back.

Maybe see you there!

Welcome to the club. Our 7 YO DD LOVES ASSp. You'll have a great time. We're going to POFQ this year, but already made our ressies at ASSp for November '03. Bring a football to toss around in front of "Touchdown!".:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Welcome to the boards 100%!

We stayed at Touchdown, not a preferred room, and it was just fine. The walk was not too bad to & from the food court, and it was equidistant between the Surfs Up pool and Grand Slam pool. We preferred the Grand Slam pool - less crowded and noisy. Of course, we were there over Easter, so it was one of the busiest times of the year - but we still loved it!

Just relax, enjoy the boards and the excitement of anticipation of your trip! It'll be here before you know it - and building up to the trip is a large part of the fun of it all.

Thanks for the info., I didn't think about taking a football, my son will love that.
