just read on face book that the endzone foodcourt at all star sports will be closed 8/4-12/20 the arcade will also be closed to serve as a grab and go area buses will be provided to take people to all star music and movies your thoughts?

I just saw that now too. Its good that theyre refurbishing everything.

I imagine their room rates will be discounted because of the inconvenience.

From some areas of Sports, you would not need a bus, you could just walk over to Music. In fact, I think the baseball area might be closer to Music's food court than Sports'.

My Thoughts:

Better to close and do the Rehabs than to let things go.:)

Thankfully there are other value Resorts to choose if this would be an inconvenience.

The Sports should be the best resort to go too, not going to be as crowded,
nobody going be there. :happytv::goodvibes

Got the official letter in the mail today. It's a little bit on the short notice side.

This has been on the refurb list for quite some time.

Things HAVE to be refurbished. Maybe Disney should consider just shutting down the entire resort for the time. They are doing what they can and honestly, if you can't walk from Sports to Music to get counter service food, maybe you should reconsider a trip to Disney World where you will walk a heck of a lot more.

Wahooo.... Right when thousands of POP Warner kids will be staying there....Lets hope they finish the refurb a few weeks early!:crowded:

A little harsh, not to mention that if they have little ones walking through a parking lot is not an optimum choice.

Last month my DD27 and I made ressies. I made mine online and she called hers in. Right away they told her about the refurb. She switched to Music and were even willing to switch mine. She told them to wait til I called in. I switched but we are debating moving back to Sports. We don't eat that often at the FC. We have a car and are bringing our own snack especially since the rooms have fridges. I feel kind of guilty that we would be taking 2 rooms away from FD guests that would utilize the FC more than us.

Plus my favorite is Sports Football because after a long day at the park I want the shortest walk to get to my room and into a nice shower.

We decided to change our reservation to sports even though the food court is closed. Music is so close we can walk there and i think my kids would love the sports themes. I am hoping the resort will be less crowded.

Thinking of upgrading to a mod since we are booked at ASMu during that time. Just how crazy do you think the extra people will make the food court? Will it add to the bus line, since most people go to the food court and then head to the parks? We will be there in September during free dining.

The traffic in the parking lot is not going to be significant. I would rather have my grandkids walk across a Disney parking lot than stand and wait for a bus to get me a less than average food court meal at a place I can see from where I'm standing.

What a ridiculous thing to say - insensitive on several levels.

For the purpose of this conversation I'll keep it to the one - not only will the Sports guests be inconvenienced by having no food court, the Music guests will as well by having their food court handling the overload. The values have already gotten well overpriced for what they are; the small discount they are offering for taking away one of the very few amenities these resorts offer is honestly laughable.

Someone refresh me please - I don't recall ever reading of any of the moderates food courts being down for refurb - ever.

It's an inconvenience for sure.. But.. I'm sure it has to be done or they wouldn't be doing it..

Also Gaspirillas Grill @ GF went thru a refurb awhile back & it took awhile, I remember when Contempo Cafe@ CR did as well so even tho you may not have heard of a mod food court being refurbed it does..

As far as compensation for the inconvenience I don't see it happening b/c then they have to compensate for ride rehabs and that ridiculous!

I'm a Disney TA & was told they would be setting up a drink station for the refillable mugs & also a shuttle over to ASMu so ppl can get to that food court.. So obviously they are trying to ease that inconvenience..

ASMU/POR Dec 16-22, 2012 & CR Sept 8-15, 2013
