We have requested a preferred room at All Star Sports. What is the best building to be in at Sports? How can you increase your odds of getting the best available room? We always ask for preferred but seem to often get the back side of the best buildings...top floor, etc.

I'm not sure how to get the best room, but I do know that the preferred rooms at sports are located in the sufs up building. We are staying at Sports in October, but didn't want to spend the money for the preferred room, so we requested the Touchdown building. No guarantees, but it is worth a shot. A member on the ASSP thread informed me that none of the buildings at sports are that far from the main building. That was nice to know.

The preferred is the Surf's Up. We loved having the preferred room for the extra money. It was close to the food court, pool, arcade, etc. All of the other buildings seemed so far away. Let me know if you have any questions.

I've stayed at AS Sports twice and will be there again Sept 26th-Oct 4th. The first time I paid for a preferred room and was on the first floor of building 6 in the Surf's Up Building. It was a great room just three doors down from the elevator on the back side, facing the tennis building. However, the next trip I paid for just a standard room and got put in Building 10 of the Touch Down building. My standard room was much closer to the main building and buses than my preferred room had been. For my upcoming Sept trip I paid for a standard room and just requested the Football building close as possible to the buses.

By the way, the same thing happened to me at POP. I once paid for a preferred room in the 60's, then a few trips later paid for a standard room and got a room in the 70's that was much closer to the buses and food court than my preferred room had been. The only value I would now pay for a preferred room in would be AS Music, simply because of how the resort it built straight back. I know that any room in the preferred Calypso section would have to be closer than any of the standard rooms there.
