All Star Pop Question

Can anyone tell me what is going on with the All Star Pop Resort? What is causing the delay? Any idea when it will open? If I bboked in one hotel can I change it if/when Pop opens?

You can always change your reservation if POP opens before your trip.


POP is pretty much on perminent delay. The reason being, Disney doesn't need to new hotel. (at least thats the way I understand it)

The last I heard(I believe on these boards) was that Pop Century(which BTW, is not an All Stars resort ) will be opening sometime next year.
We drove by it back in August and they were definitely making a lot of progress on the buildings since we were there last, 11 months earlier.

If it is not an All Star Hotel do you mean it is not a value resort?

My understanding is that it will be a Value resort, but without All Star as part of the name.

Yes, like AllStarFan said it is a value, but not one of the All Stars. Just like Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter are moderates, and Carribean Beach is also a moderate however its not a Port Orleans resort.
Maybe the confusion is because as of right now the only values are the 3 All Stars so the assumption is that another value resort will be another All Star. However value/moderate/deluxe are just the type of resorts, not the actual name of the resorts. Hope this helps!
