HELP! 4 adults 4 kids (6 and under) dates to stay 3/6/02- 3/12/02. Can anyone tell me if we made the right decission on staying here? We have preferred rooms. That is all I know. Should I try to upgrade to anouther hotel? HELP we are first timers and want to make every minute count! Thanks!!!

We stayed at ALLStar Music for the first time this past January - and loved it! My kids (9 and 12) thought it was great - they liked it much better than any of the mods we have stayed it. It's a thumbs up for us! Have a great trip!

We stayed at the Movies last year and loved it. We stayed in the Buzz building and the kids lovedthe giant characters. We found the rooms to be fine size wise. Housekeeping had our room cleaned before noon each day and we found the food in the foodcourt to be very good.

Welcome aboard Barbs. Don't worry, you made a great choice. We've stayed at Music twice and Movies twice - never a complaint. The only thing I question is whether you really need or want a preferred room. That just means you are in the closest building (which for Music would be one of the Calypso buildings) to the food court and bus stops. If you want to save some $ and don't mind a little longer walk, I'd try for one of the Jazz buildings. Just stay away from Country or you'll literally find yourself in a different country. Been there - done that.

Have a great time!

My son (15) PREFERS All Star Music over every deluxe and moderate we've stayed at (Poly, Dixie Landings/Riverside, Coronado Springs). He's stayed there many times since he was 10 and says he thinks the theming is better there than at the more expensive resorts. Kids typically are not impressed by the "luxury" aspects of the resorts and, in my experience, like the obviously Disney-related stuff best -- which is what the All Stars do best!

I will also say that it has been my experience that the bus transportation to and from the All Stars is better than that from the more expensive resorts -- it seems to run more often.

What do you mean by another country? Could you explain in polite terms. Thanks !!

The "Country" bldgs are pretty far from the pools/food court/buses etc. That's why she said she felt like she was in another country....just a funny. If I were you I'd keep the perfered view you already have for ASMu. For the other All Star motels I'd say you wouldn't need it because they are more clustered and most are close to everything. The All Star Music is more spread out and you might end up in a building that's further out than you'd like.

My granddaughter and I stayed at All Star Music last April and she loved it. It's really geared toward kids...the adults in the party might think they look a little....um, muleish, but the kids seem to love it. They're clean and the food courts/bus service & everything is great!

Now all you need to do is study about the parks, fastpass & etc and you'll be good to go! You've come to the right place for Disney knowledge.......Have fun!

mom5417,

Like jennymouse said - the Country buildings are so far out you feel like you're in a different area code or zip code. We'd start out for breakfast and get there by lunch.

The All Stars have pretty basic accommodations as far as the actual rooms are concerned but the theming is great - especially for kids. The main pool is shaped like a guitar with the kiddie pool placed at the end (I can't remember what you actually call that part of the guitar:D ). I thought the location of the kiddie pool was great for parents who need to stay close to the little ones and still be able to see older kids in the main pool.

I agree with the folks who said that a preferred room is worth the extra money at Music. It is laid out differently than Movies and Sports - there really aren't any rooms too far from the main buildings at those. We were in the Broadway section when we were at Music and it was a long walk at the end of the day - especially for our DS who was 5yo at the time.

I recommend looking at a map (I believe the DIS has one in the Resorts section of the site) and all the pictures you can find on the Internet - I think the DIS has pictures in addition to the maps. Some other good sites for pictures are www.wdwig.com, www.wdwfun.com, and www.ourlaughingplace.com.

Hope this helps.:)
