We had only stayed at POR but this time since it was just the kids and I and I have a much more limited budget than my parents. I chose ASMo for this trip and we really liked it there. I know POR has more "ammenities" but I found ASMo had it's own charm, the huge larger than life Disney icons, the pool with Sorcerer Mickey. There was a very short wait to check in and when I got up to check in, the lady said I'd have a room in Mighty Ducks on the first floor. I asked her very nicely if there might not be a non smoking Dalmations room, preferably on the 3rd floor or if not a 3rd floor non smoking room. She called on the phone and I got exactly what I wanted and it was READY to check into right away (it was 1:30pm). There was no disturbing noise while we slept, other guests were fun and friendly and even helpful. Our room was very clean and neat and although we didn't get the famous Towel Animals, one day we came back to see our stuffed animals in the window arranged and watching for us. It was very cute! We enjoyed the pools and the food court was quick, clean and had tasty food.
POR has a more "resort" feel, more peaceful, a bit more luxury, but this was great in its own way. Overall a very fun stay, we'd definitely stay at a Value Resort again. It is just what it says a great value.

I'm booked for my second stay at the Movies in a few months and am really looking forward to it. This is our favorite value resort. I really feel like I'm at WDW when I stay at this resort with all the Disney movie stuff.

I'm glad you had a great stay at ASMo! I'll be staying there for the first time on my next trip, although only for the first 2 nights. Looking forward to trying it out, and so your report was nice to read. Thanks for posting! :sunny:

I'm glad to hear you had a good time  We are staying there July 06 for 7 nights and I can't wait. Thanks for posting

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at All Star movies. After staying at a few other Disney resort I too found the magic at All Stars.
Kids love the All Star Movies.
It is like being in the middle of a Disney Movie Fantasyland.

am 55 years old and travel several times a year. I often stay at 4 star hotels.
So the deluxe resorts do not have anything special for me.
All Star is like being in the heart of the Magic and that is where I want to be.
.
The buses are wonderful.

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot,MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney.
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have a great time at Disney!
