What is the best building at ASMo? About to do online check-in! My only request is that I don't really want to be by a pool.

If you don't have a preferred room, your choices are really Love Bug and Mighty Ducks.
Love Bug is a lot quieter because it's at the back of the resort and not near a pool. It's also a shorter walk to the main building than the Mighty Ducks.
The Mighty Ducks is by their quiet pool, and there's a lot less noise and activity there than the main pool. The Ducks rooms are actually closer to All Star Music's bus stops and main building than the Love Bug's is.
The preferred buildings are 101 Dalmations, Toy Story, and Fantasia. You can actually request these rooms even if you did not pay for a preferred. But you'll only get one if they have availability and open rooms there, as paying preferred room guests get these rooms first.

If you did want to chance it and try for one of them, I would pick Toy Story because it is the quietest, very close to the bus stops, and right near the main building.

I second this. Loved staying that close to the bus stops and the main building. We only had to walk through a small patch of grass to get to the busses. It took about 2 minutes maximum to get to either a bus or the main building.

I've stayed at All-Star movies twice before, this January will be my third. Both times we requested Toy Story, and both times we got stuck with Love Bug, exactly what we didn't want. So this time I ponied up the extra cash for a preferred room and booked a year in advance so I'm hoping it does the trick this time. If you reserved a standard room, you will most likely be stuck in the Love Bug unless they're aren't many people staying during that time.

We stayed there last year and I was told that technically every building has standard rooms in it. We paid for standard and requested 101 Dalmatians -- and got it. It was a nice location too, very short walk to the bus and main building. We really liked it. I think Mighty Ducks wouldn't be too bad either because it's close enough to AS Music that you could just walk to their bus across the parking lot if you really wanted to. I agree with the others though -- Love Bug is the worst and the farthest section that you don't want!

I am staying in a standard room at Movies next month but the online check in didn't allow me to select any other section except Love Bug or The Mighty Ducks?

You used to be able to request sections when doing online check-in, but that's no longer the case as far as I can tell. What you should do is call and have them note it on your account (or have your TA do it).

And I recommend the Touring Plans Fax service -it has a great success record-not 100% of course,but it does work frequently.
