All Star Movies

I wasn't planning a Disney trip this year...we've gone 3 times in the last 2 years...but the free dining is tempting me!! My DS just loves Disney (wants to live there!!!). The last 2 trips we stayed in Moderates. Our first trip we stayed in POP and we enjoyed ourselves. My son loved the large pop culture figures throughout the resort. I want to do this trip as cheaply as possible (i want to do 10 days ) so we will most likely do another value resort.

I was going to try for POP again since it seems to get the best reviews, but my DS is really a movie fanatic and I thought maybe All Star Movies would be fun for him. I would love some advice/input as to anyone's experience at ASMo. When was it last renovated? How many pools at the resort?

I am going to visit the website and check it out...but please help me choose!! FYI, it will be just me and my DS (age 8) on the trip.

My family loves the All Star Movies. The Toy Story buildings are great.

There is a big fancy pool and a quiet pool down near the Mighty Ducks section. I really enjoyed AS Movies and intend to go back there next time I can get to the World. The preferred locations are Fantasia (right near the big pool, ask to face AWAY for a little more quiet), Toy Story, and Dalmatians which is on the way to the quiet pool. That's where we were, facing out to the parking lot area, and it worked well for us. We were closer to the quiet pool, but still not as far away as the two sections (Mighty Ducks and something else I cannot remember) that are not preferred.

I found the walk not too bad from the bus stop and main building. I have stayed at CBR, and I found that walk to be too much after a fun day at the parks. You and your son will have a great time! Free dining has made me want to go back, too!

We just got back and stayed at Movies it was great everyone loved it. We stayed in Fantasia building the walk was not bad at all. But I would recomend facing away from the pool if you cannot sleep with noise, because they do not enforce the quiet hours from 10pm-midnight.

We loved the Movies! We stayed over Christmas and it didn't even feel crowded despite being sold out. We were in the Mighty Ducks building #2 and over looked the quiet pool. We were steps away from the Music resort and often used their buses and food court.

There are great photo opportunities and this hotel is so Disney like! Whe nwe moved to another resort, it felt like we left Disney. I like the food court and the store. My DS loved the arcade. The rooms are quiet. Didn't hear much from my neighbours....

Do I really need to pay the extra money for the "Preferred Room"? My sons do like Toy Story and I requested those rooms but is it really worth the extra money or does it seem like they are all ok rooms and you just walk around to the rest of the resort?

The preferred rooms are a bit closer to the main building and the bus stops. I really was not happy at CBR with the long walks, so I wanted close! My advice is check out the map in a reference book or something. Love Bug and Mighty Ducks are the ones that aren't preferred. It's not that big of a deal, much closer than across the lake at CBR, but since the cost wasn't that much, I went ahead and asked for preferred.

LOVED All Star Movies! Stayed in the Dalmations building and it was super convenient, yet peaceful. I would stay there again in a heartbeat, and I don't have little kids anymore. They have the BEST Value foodcourt, hands down. You won't be disappointed.
