Ok apart from the price (i noticed that ASMovies costs more) how do the 2 hotels compare? and why is All Star Movies costing more? What are the pros and cons for both?

Its all to do with the area that they are built in. Pop is built in an area that has less local tax and thats the only reason it cost less. Out of the two I would definitely say POP is the best. Much more prettier landscaping with lots of palm trees and it has the lake which makes it more like a resort. Nothing is too far away either at POP...what can I say...been to all value resorts but keep going back to POP...love it!:thumbsup2

Agree went allstar movies first 2 years and then pop century for 2 years love pop century seem to be more central to all parks and not much waiting time for buses to parks

Pop rooms are having a refurb at the mo which is great :thumbsup2 stayed at both prefered Pop.

Wow! A refurb? POP is one of the new (ish) resorts too! I want to give it a try next year. A refurb makes it all the more appealing! :thumbsup2

We have stayed at ASMu and loved it. Only downfall is that the All Stars are a bit out of the way of some things. For example, we make several evening trips to DTD during our stay and it was a bit of a trek. POP is a bit more central in that it isn't at any of the extreme corners of WDW.

Thanks guys - that's really useful feedback. Not going for a few years yet (4 years to wait ;)) have never stayed on site, but next time will be the first time with kids - my DD will be 6yrs old, so i think on site would be nice for us all. also not sure about a car next time if transportation so good - or may have car for 1 week for seaworld and universal..... i guess it depends wot DD is "into" then :rotfl: . 4 years to wait but i know it will come around quickly and will be worth the wait :goodvibes

Hi,

The reason prices for All Star Movies is higher is that UK guests want to stay there, rather than at the Music or Sports buildings.
I asked Disney about if when booking for my last trip. It turns out that we are prepared to pay extra for film characters we recognise, rather than music or sports icons.

If you look at the US site, the prices are the same for each of the All Stars Resorts, no Movies premium.:confused3

It sucks that we have to pay more for the same rooms.
