We are to be in WDW from Sunday Nov 27-dec 3 and I have rooms reserved at ASMo. I am wondering if I should switch to a moderate resort. We will be travelling with a 3yr and a 1yr old. Although, we do have a preferred room location, I am wondering what is best.

Ive stayed at POR(then DXL) 2x and ASMO 3x. While we enjoyed our stays at POR and we cant really complain about much there(except for everything being spread out), we much prefer ASMO!
I dont see many advantages to the moderate and ASMO is just so much fun. Its a pretty compact resort and IMO, theres no need for the preferred room. The theming is wonderful...just so DISNEY! The bus service and food court were great and CMs are friendly and helpful. After staying at ASMO, I would have a tough time going back to a moderate. But, I do seem to be in the minority on that one, and I do feel it all depends what is important to you.
Good luck deciding! :D

The Tech Support board has very clear directions in one of the posts stuck at the top. Its very simple to follow. If I could do it, anyone can. :D

The advantages of a moderate vs. a value are:

Slightly more square footage (bigger room)
Sit down resturant as well as food court
Water slide and hot tub at the main pool

Unless these things are important to you, I'd stick with the value resort. If any of the above appeal to you, than that is what would make it worth the switch;)

HTH's:wave:

We stayed at Port Orleans for our first trip. It was nice, but we barely spent any time in the rooms. We didn't need all the extra's. There also wasn't a restaurant, just the food court at the time because they were renovating. The only added bonus was the boat downtown from the hotel. This time we are trying the ASMo. It looks like so much fun for the kids with all of the character themes. The rooms are a little smaller, but we don't plan on spending our days at the hotel anyway. From what I've read, a lot of people enjoy this resort.

I think kids that age will LOVE All Star Movies, I know my kids did. The extras at the moderates (sit down restaurant, hot tub, etc.) probably won't be of much interest to them but I'm sure the huge Disney icons at Movies will be! Have fun!
