I need advice... Hoping to go in May for my twin daughters 5th Birthday in mid- May. Trying to decide between movies and music to stay at. Will be myself, the girls and Grandma (I'm a Widow). Music seems to have a Suite for Families but is it worth it??? The girls can and probably will wind up sleeping with me but I'd like to hopefully not have to sleep with them if possible.

So any advice out there on these two options? and how are these for getting to the parks? I haven't been to Disney in 20 years (I was 18 on my last trip there).. I want and need to book soon. Grandma is the hold out so I am hoping to make this trip part of her Christmas and Mother's Day gift.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

The Music and Movies are very nice choices for your group. Music has everything on a smaller scale: food court, gift shop, walking area, pool, etc. but Movies has a better theme-ing IMO. When you reserve the room say 2 adults and 2 5 y/o in one room and I'm sure you'll get set up with 2 full beds. The food court is wonderful small because kids can see what it looks like before they order and there are enough choices to get them to eat. Bus service has been spot-on for us for several years. We were there 2 weeks ago and maybe waited 15 minutes max for one bus to DHS. From the parks, all three Value resorts may or may not share one bus back. Have a wonderful time and I hope you grow to love the Values like our family has over the years:thumbsup2

All Star Music family suite is a nice room. We have stayed there in a suite twice. It gives you a Queen bed in the bedroom and 3 different sleepers in the living room.

You have a double sleeper sofa, a chair sleeper and an ottoman sleeper. The smallest sleeper is a little smaller than a twin size bed.

You could give grandma the bedroom so she could have a private sleeping area and you take the sleeper sofa and put the kids on the other 2 sleepers.

Having the 2 bathrooms came in handy in the evenings when it was time for everybody to bathe at the same time.

And we really used the kitchenette a lot.

I would take a look at the moderate resorts (standard rooms) because you get two queen beds and the rooms will be big enough for the four of you. And I have a feeling that even if you are in a suite the little ones are going to magnetize into your room and your bed. And, they are less costly by about $50 per night (give or take a few dollars). Plus you get a few extra amenities. And then the money you save can be used on meals or such. Anyway you decide you can't go wrong. It's all Disney! Do let us know what you decide to do.

Thanks.... I looked at the Moderates and now have 3 choices.. my two original and now the Port Orleans- Riverside one..

Any thoughts on that resort??? anyone..

The Port Orleans Resort rooms got a full refurbishment during 2011/2012. This included new queen size beds (they got rid of the double size beds). Check out http://www.portorleans.org/rooms.php

This website has a great wealth of information on this wdw resort.

We stayed at a suite in ASMusic this past summer. We loved it. Grandma could have the bedroom and you could sleep with your daughters in the living room. The couch, chair and ottaman all turn into a bed. The girls could share the chair and you could take the couch or you could all share the couch. It would give all of you some privacy byt having the two rooms. It also gives you 2 bathrooms, and a small kitchenette. We loved it.

Thanks... I'm leaning towards All Stars Music since it has the Suite... still trying to convince Grandma...

Hello all,

Will All star Music family suite have enough room for my family of 4 (the two kids are ages 2 and 4) and my parents coming along? So 4 adults and 2 small kids?

I'm going to to ASMusic in May too :cool1:

Make sure to look into the promo deal that's out for Spring (out now for cardholders, out for the public on Jan 3rd) There's a bunch of threads on here that can give you an idea of what you might save - it could make a different for you in terms of upgrading to a Moderate more cheaply than you think (or allowing you to save money at a Value and cancel out the cost of upgrading to a suite at ASM)

What dates in May will you be there... I'm thinking the 11th to the 15th... my twins turn 5 on the 12th.

I have AAA so I might wait till Jan 3rd to get their savings... Trying to figure it out..
