All Star Movies getting run down

Does anyone else feel that the All Star Movies is getting run down. I have stayed there the 3rd week in June for the past 4 years. I always loved it and the kids always had a really good time. This year it felt like something was missing the room looked run down. The resort really didn't have that Disney feeling like it use to. We also had a lot of issues with the busses. Waiting for over 30 minutes on several occasions. In December we are going back for a week but decided to stay at the Swan. I figured it is a Starwood hotel so if should be kept up with and we could also walk to both MGM and EPCOT if need be.

We've stayed at Movies for the last couple of years and Movies didn't look any worse for wear for our April 2007 trip. We were in the Toy Story Building. Of course, I think all the All Star hotels are on the list to refurbish and I believe they've just finished up ASMusic. Hopefully, ASMovies will get some attention soon.

Sadly it doesn't surprise me because of the traffic. I had talked to a CRO CM a few years ago who told me that due to the theming that Movies was the most popular AS Resort- and therefore had the most traffic thru it.

It's sad to me that they're not investing in the upkeep of the Values (from recent reports it sounds to me, anyway) We stayed at the AS hotels 3 times between 1996 and 1999- in the end it was the bus service v. monorail convenience that caused us to decide we wanted fewer trips at the Deluxes.

I should mention too though that they really let the deluxes go a long time between refurbs too- as evidenced by all the work they've done at the monorail resorts in the past 2 years which is still ongoing. They were working on a lot of painting and they were working on main floor rooms in Tokelau when we were there- luckly we were on the 3rd floor and didn't hear anything. Half the buildings at the GF had working going on, it appeared.

Every time we're planning, I always ask DH if he wants to try a 'bus hotel' this time, and he gets the same look. While we were there (9/4-9/12) every time we went over the bus stops on the monorail, esp. after parks had closed, we remarked how crazy they were, for a looooooong time after the parks had closed.

They need to do some reevaluating of the routes, more busses are needed. . .something. I have heard so many people complain about them that it's obvious it's only gotten worse.

As for us, it took us 45 minutes to get back- that was IN transit time on the bus from DTD to the Poly because of all the stops. Not to mention most of the bus seats were wet because of sharing the run with the water parks.

No fun at all!

Was the rest of your trip good otherwise I hope???

Yes the rest of the trip was great. We did 4 days at the Nick hotel and the kids loved it I thought 4 days was a little long would probably go back for 2. The other issue we had was we were given an adjoining room and the family in the other room had a baby and I believe they set up the crib against the adjoining door so every time the baby would cry at night we would all wake up also. But at least the weather was great for June. It only rained 2 times the 14 days we were there and being June I think that was great.

I haven't stayed at ASMo in a couple years, but here's my opinion. The first time you stay somewhere, you're more likely to love it because it's all new to you. After you've stayed several times, you're more likely to feel let down, because maybe something's not living up to your memories, and sometimes you tend to build things up in your mind so they seem better than the reality. Also you get used to it, and are less impressed each time. Maybe you need to try somewhere else and then come back to ASMo and see what you think. We stayed there in 2005 and absolutely loved it, it was our first on-site WDW stay and now I will never do off-site again. I do think if we went back though, I'd probably notice more little things because it wouldn't be such a new experience for me.

I hope your right I would hate to think Disney is letting the value resorts get run down
