Hi - we are planning to spend a 5 days in WDW with the kids aged 2 1/2 & 5 and are looking at staying at ASMovies. For locations, which are best standard or preferred view in terms of transport/ food /quiet.

We will be arriving from UK, therefore kids will be crashed out by 7:00p.m. at the latest!

Also, we are thinking of getting a towncar form Orlando airport to WDW and then picking up a hire car from WDW to drive down to Fort Myers and then on to Miami for our return flight. Any hints or tips would really help!

First off..... Have a great vacation!

I can't help with any transportation issues. We are fairly close and drive our own vehicle.

I can tell you that at the all stars the preferred rooms are closer to the front where the courtyard (food-front desk) and busses are. As for the quietness I'd ask for a room not with a pool view which means you'll most likely have a view of nothing or the parking lot.

We have found some of the standard rooms are very accessible from the parking lot for those who drive. But the trip to the courtyard or game room may be a bit of a walk.

Hi JackOH,
My family stayed at All Star Movies in May of 2002 and loved it! Our children were 5 and 7 at the time. I can't believe I have forgotten the name of the building we were in, but I have. I know it was a preferred and was at the end of a wing from the pool. (maybe Fantasia?) It took us about 2 minutes to walk to the pool and about 3 minutes to get to the food court and/or out the front door to transportation. The rooms aren't big, but since all we had them for was to bathe and sleep I would stay there again.

WE ATYED AT ALL STAR MOVIES IN SEPTEMBER 2001. IT WAS GREAT FOR THE KIDS. WE HAD A GREAT TIME. WE STAYED A T THE INSTITUTE THE TIME BEFROE THAT, AND IT WAS NICE., BUT MOVIES IS SO MUCH MORE!! ECSPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN. WE STAYED IN DALMATION BUILDING AND LOVED IT!!:smooth:

We usually use Tiffany Towncar, but always get the round trip. If you use Meer's for the one way you can save some $$. I probably wouldn't rent the car if you aren't going to use it for the first 5 days. So Meers or a towncar are the way to go.

I would recommend requesting a room in the Toy Story buildings. These are non-preferred, but are located just to the side of the main building (which holds the check-in & foodcourt) and is a very quick walk to the main pool, playground & bus stop. The Fantasia buildings are the "preferred" buildings and are located straight outside the main building. We stayed in the Buzz building a few years ago and were very pleased with its location. It was very quiet and the room overlooked the courtyard.
