My daughter (20) and I flew across the country to spend a long weekend at All Star Movies, seeing the World and in between all running the Minnie Marathon 15K on Sunday morning the 6th of May.

Flew Delta to Orlando from San Jose on Friday morning. Flight left at 6:15am, we transfered in Atlanta and arrived at MCO by about 4:15pm. Using Magical Express we were at the resort 5:30 and were on our way to the Sports Complex to pick up our numbers for the race on Sunday. If we could accomplish this then we had all day Saturday in the parks and when you fly from California you need to maximize your time :) Bib numbers picked up we headed back to our resort All Star Movies to check in. Took about 15 minutes (I just don't understand why it should even take that long) grabbed a bite in the food court and headed to the room. Our bags arrived about 15 minutes later.

Up at 7:00, breakfast at the food court then off to the Magic Kingdom. There for the rope drop and by noon we had been on all the major rides with our longest wait being about 20 minutes. Buzz Lightyear was broken so we had to pass but Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Phillharmagic and the like even with lunch we were able to head over to MGM about 2:00pm and ride Tower of Tower twice and Rockin Roller Coaster and be back at our resort, eat dinner and hit the sack by about 8:30 because we had to be up at 4:00 to get to the race by 5:45am.

15K race (a little over 9 miles). Race was small and really well run, although I wish they provided transportation from the resorts. Minor point. About 2 hours later (start at 6:15am) my daugher and I had our Minnie Medals around our necks and after cheering some folks were headed back to our resort. By 10:30 we were at Epcot. Had lunch in Morroco, took pictures in China saw every single store in between (my daughter loves to window shop), rode Mission Space (the only ride my daughter really wanted to do there), saw all the beautiful flowers then headed to Downtown Disney. My daughter filled a Mr Potato Head box for her boyfriend, we had dinner at the RainForest Cafe and headed back to the room. We were both beat!

Up at 6:00 am. Early morning hours were at Animal Kingdom this morning and the last time we were at the parks Expedition Everest was not complete. Packed our bags and headed down to do airline check in at the resort. Huge complaint here. There was a group of over 100 kids checking in with one agent. Even at the airport they would have had their own line. Personally, I think it is a bad idea to let large groups check in at the resorts. So instead of checking in for our flight we left the bags with the bellhop, ate breakfast then headed to Animal Kingdon. Rode Expedition Everest 2x in the first 20 minutes we were in the park. Awesome ride! Rode the Primevil Whirl, good fun and went on Dinosaur, way to scary for youngsters and I don't know why parents bring their kids on the ride. Just take a look at the pictures as you exit to see what I mean :) By noon we went back to the hotel, checked in for our flight, headed to the airport and was in my own bed at Midnight, California time....long day.

My daughter and I had a great weekend. A little hot on Sunday morning for the race and the wind was just brisk enough on Monday to want a light jacket if you were standing in the shade. All the cast members we met were friendly and helpful. The Movies resort fit our needs for a long weekend. Bus waits were only long once (Animal Kingdom to get back to the resort). Never used Fast Pass and got on every ride we wanted to go on with no more then a 20 minute wait!

It was a great trip.
